A small, peaceful campsite with hot water pools.
The facilities are nice and clean. The pools close around 7:30 PM, and in the morning before check-out, there is an opportunity to take a bath.

Great spot.
$60 for two people camping with hot pools included (would’ve cost $50 for two people in hot pools anyway). Pools lovely, a lot quieter in the morning and you can enter before the public at 8.30 for a completely private experience. Shower and toliets available. $4 wash and $4 dryer.

Excellent site with good facilities including kitchen and showers/toilets.
Seems expensive but you get access to hot pools included. We paid $60 for 2 people on unpowered site but hot pools would have cost $25 per person. It was quiet so we had access to pools from when we arrived at 5pm until it closed at 7pm and then the next morning as well. Definitely worth a nights stay

Great value if you're using the thermal pools (we paid ~$60 for 2 ppl on an unpowered site; admission is $25pp).
You also get to use the pools from 6am before it's open to the public, which was lovely. But camp facilities are very basic - not that many toilets / showers; no hairdryer; no crockery / utensils in the small kitchen; no dining area.

Brilliant stay.
We were planning to visit the hot pools anyway, so glad we did it with the campsite. Access to the pools is included in the campsite fee. ($60 unpowered spot for 2 people in small camper.) Campers have access to the pools before they open to the general public, we went for a sunrise dip and it was stunning and basically empty. Would recommend.

Basic facilities, not a lot of space, very dense.
But you‘re here for the hot pools and they are worth it! 60$ per night for unpowered site, but includes unlimited access to pools. You don‘t want to spend your holidays here, but it‘s a great place for 2 days and a night.
Reservation always recommended, campground is very popular (we were lucky to get the last open spot).

Best decision to stay here.
We were able to access the pools both in the evening we arrived and first thing in the morning before officially opening. Short walk to the spring was also a bonus. Amazing hot showers and kitchen facilities where we were able to get a quick phone charge in as well! Definitely worth the money.

Lovely place if you're looking for a smaller quiet place with hot pools.
As a campsite guest you're allowed to enter the pools in the morning before it opens for regular guests. Pools were lovely and also a nice walk to the hot spring where you can see the boiling water coming out of the ground. Facilities were small but clean!

The springs, the pools and the nature around are awesome.
It is peaceful and quiet all-day and the staff is very friendly. But the pitches are tiny and the bathrooms, kitchen and shower are nothing more than ok. It felt like the staff gave up cleaning, in particular at the pools. Consequently, ants and, after dark, cockroaches very present. A shambles as otherwise we would have given 9 or 10.

One of my favourite places to camp island.
Peaceful, good ammenities and such good value considering you can jump in the hot pools from 6am and before they are open to public.
Go out my way to stay here whenever I can!

Nice place off the beaten track with very friendly staff.
It’s wonderful going for a hot dip before breakfast and before the pools are open to the general public. After a day of activities in Rotorua we then return for another hot dip after dinner. The hot pools here are wonderful and senic, the only reason for not giving the campsite 10/10 is for lack of grey waste disposal.

Access to the hot pools included in our campervan stay. Pools are drained everyday and campers can access pools from 6am . Kitchen, laundry showers all included. Staff friendly and complex really clean. Will definitely be staying here again, away from the hussel of Rotorua

Brilliant place to stay.
Highlight is definitely being able to utilise the hot pools for $25 per person (unpowered). Costs $20 for an adult to enter the hot pools anyway. So relaxing & if you walk the eco trail you can see the source bubbling up! Love it here.

Parking lots are not too small.
Kitchen and enough showers available. Price includes entry to the pools + it's possible to use the pools from 6 am. It was a great experience. We didn't pre-book and got a place, but was full at the end.

We stayed for two nights in September, rainy and a bit cold, very nice to stay in the hot pools, kitchen is very small you can’t really cook there but it’s good for doing the dishes.$24 per person per
night unpowered . External entrance to the pools is $18, so it’s really cheap to stay. Washing and drying 4 $ each.in the café they offer small things like fish and chips very nice .
It’s nice to see the hot spring where it comes from just a little walking for five minutes within the compound very nicely arranged.good place to see the volcanic activity of the biggest spring in the area for free!!
Good starting point for that lady Knox gaysir in the morning 10:15am. Don’t miss the mud pool which is as interesting as the Champaigne pool.

Loved it here.
Camp fees include entry to hot pools which are excellent with fresh water pumped in every day. Steam coming up all around the site from the natural hot springs, simply amazing at sunset and in the morning in the quiet, natural setting. Enjoyed looking out the back window of our van watching the steam rise out of the hot streams below. Sites are small but adequate. Showers were excellent - large, hot with plenty of pressure. There are showers near the hot pools and near the camp sites but it is all close together so you can use either. Little cafe you can get dinner at if you want. Kitchen was small and basic but clean and had everything you need - we were very happy using it. Laundry OK, another washer and dryer would be good, given everyone has wet towels. Nice staff. Really loved it here, well worth the stop and being able to use the pools into the evening and again early in the morning. Recommended.

Nice campsite even only few showers and small kitchen.
With free access to the Hot pools included in the price it is definitely a really good one to stay one night on your way to Rotorua. Very close to Wai-O-Tapu thermal park which is definitely one to visit.

You should stay here just for the hot pool and not the camping itself.
The camping has only 1 shower and 2 toilet per gender.
A very small kitchen with not much amenities.
But you have a free access to the hot pools.
What a better way to relax after a long day, or start your morning by going in early before anyone.

I think the car park has improved since our last visit in 2014. The toilets and showers are the same, not brilliant but ok.
Cafe and shop an addition? I can’t remember but they looked good. We came for the hot pools so a separate review for them.

Small sites positioned quite close together in a car park so not a lot of privacy.
$24 per person for an un-powered site or $28 per person for powered. But considering this cost gets you access to the pools the afternoon of your arrival as well as the morning for a few hours before they open to the public, it's well worth it.
Aside from that the facilities are quite good. Showers and toilets are clean and you have access to a small kitchen area as well as washers and dryers.
My advice is to get up early (pools are filled by 6-6:30) and enjoy a soak before anyone else!

Cost $27 per adult for powered site, which wasn’t bad considering the free access to the hot springs both until 9pm that night and from 6am the next morning which would normally cost $18 per adult.
Really good customer service and a well set up campsite.
