A good place to have booked in advance of our trip.
Clean facilities and friendly staff. A slight whiff of sulphur but no way near as bad as in town! There were hot tubs available but we didn’t use them. Would say the walk into town was a bit further than advertised which is why I haven’t given higher.

We loved this place.
The amenities, kitchen, bathroom and laundry were good. Didn't need to pay for a hot shower. The staff were very friendly. It was great being able to soak in the hot thermal mineral water pools at the end of the day. There were two thermal spa's (one hotter than the other) and a thermal pool for the kids. It was close (short drive) to town and most of the main tourist attractions. We walked to the public thermal park (10 mins) where we were able to see a smoking lake, bubbling mud and even soak our feet in the hot foot pools. The caravan park has a track to the edge of the lake and has its own bubbling mud pit. It has play equipment for the kids and they were renovating the cabins while we were there (Sept 2016). We stayed in our motor home. They had a dump station for our toilet and grey water and a tap to refill our water tanks. We stayed for a week and were sad to leave. We had to go home sometime...

Sadly it is nothing like the photos.
The parking space is very close together, would not be suitable for a large camper.
Although, clean it is very outdated both the kitchen and bathrooms.
The other issues is the use of the kitchen, you have to pay extra for a token to use the oven.
Easy access to town, with 25 minute walk.

Not impressed.
Very small sites. Couldn't even open our awning.
Clean but run down.
Kitchen was tidy but not well stocked and the first time ever we've had to pay to use one.
Hot pools (small spa sizeand shallow were ok but don't get more than 3 people in or you're crowded.
Dump point: If a motorhome is using it you can't get passed in your vehicle.
Site says 20 minute walk to centre of town. More like 35 - 40 minutes. Definitely not in the heart of Rotorua.

We didn't like so much.
The place was quite run down and not so clean. The staff was not so friendly and we wait a lot of time for check in. Our campervan site was "private" (small trees hedges) but very small and many have not this hedges. Despite there was quite few people they put all camping cars close to each others. The thermal pools are nicely decorated but small and always full of people even in low season ! (the biggest one was not open). Kitchen and showers room just minimum. Price is high for the quality. Be aware that even if it is a "Holiday park" it is not a "kiwi Holiday park" and they don't take the "Holiday park Card". Not so close to the city by walking, and quite far to the city center by foot. We were there in july 2020. We moved to the Rotorua Top 10 which we felt more better.

The staff were unfriendly and the thermal pools were a bit gross. The beach is cute but I'd stay at one of the other parks cause it's not even cheap. The sites were private tho but they gave us the same site as someone else so go an angry knock on the door saying we were in the wrong site.

We (couple in 30ies) made a reservaton for 2 nights, to spend new year 2019 in rotorua.
On arrival they made the reservaton for 2 adults/2 kids. Had to go to the reception twice on that day to get the money refunded. We drove to our "site", more a parking slot, and the owner was asking us what we were doing there and that we should leave soon. After telling him, that we were campers (surprise!) he shut up. Anyway, the site was crowded as to expect on NYE, so we had one night a powered, second a unpowered site. The unpowered smelled badly like dogshit, couldn't imagine to sleep in a tent there! Also there is a bright light illuminating the Tent area at night, hard to get a sleep with that. The Receptionist told us, there would be fireworks on NYE, so we made our plans for that evening to be an the campsite. When tried to get to the Lake through the Campsite-path, the Gate was locked. The Receprionist said she were sorry she didn't know the plans had changed. What the??? The area the Park is located in is a bit fucked up, didn't feel comfortable to walk into the city late.

I am sorry there was a mix-up with the number of people in your group and we apologize for that. The smell from the thermal area can be strong at times, especially before the rain, which was the case over those dates. We are experimenting with the lighting in the tent area due to feedback we have had from the guests camping in tents. So far we have had positive feedback.
The information we were all given over the plans for new years eve was incorrect and the organizers have made a public apology.
once again we are sorry for the mix-up.
