Gorgeous location, we stayed right next to the water in an unpowered site.

Nice and quiet, the service at the front desk was wonderful and the services were well equipped.

Super endroit très calme au bord du lac, bien mieux entretenu, calme et moins cher que le gros camping au bord du lac un peu plus tôt sur la route quand on vient de Taupo !

Je recommande, cuisine en très bon état, douches nickel

WiFi, showers, plumbed loos, power, top up of water and dumping spot is what you get for your money.

    Great views.

$25pp for a non powered self contained vehicle.

Since there isn’t too many free option in the area I thought this was well worth the money for convenience to Tongariro Alpine crossing the next day. They have all the amenities and most importantly well maintained/clean. My only issue was mosquitos!!! Those pesky things got into my van and were buzzing around my head all night haha but that is no other than my fault

Price is ok, $54 for an unpowered campsite by the water.

pro’s your by the water, and the showers were pretty decent.

con’s the highway is right behind you.

    Hot tip.

Avoid using the washing machine and drier if you stay here almost like I threw my clothes into the lake, then put a fan on them for $24 most expensive wash load of my life.

We got lucky to get a powered site for our campervan here.

Nice place to stay. Lovely playground, good equipped kitchen, small shop to stock up, just a little lack in showers. For us no problem as we are not on a hurry. We got a warm welcome by the owners.

Nice staff but site was quite crowded, had tents pitched on powered sites which made things a bit tight.

Toilets and Showers clean. Good access to Taupo boat launch sites, fish cleaning facilities on site too.

The location of the camp site is excellent, right on the edge of the water.

Only two showers though and water pressure is pretty weak. No more coin operated shower which is great because there is no way I can shampoo and conditioning my hair in under 6 mins.

One of the friendliest campsites in NZ.

right on the edge of lake Taupo. Easily fitted our 6 berth van into the lake view site. Facilities are great and very clean. There is also wi-fi that reaches most of the camp if you need to stay connected. Also great coffee vendor near the marina. Can't wait to go back there.

Very expensive with 25$ pP for a non-powered site.

Bad showers, for all campers 4! Two of them for both genders. Everything is very old und need to be renovated!

Small campsite for $20 pp with campervan.

Nearby the lake, but there was not much of a beach to go for a swim. Facilities were fine but bit outdated, two showers for men and two for women. Kitchen was pretty big and a barbecue outside. Electricity at our spot did not work. Very friendly campsite managers. Should have been cheaper, not real value for money. But it is nearby the Tongariro Crossing shuttle pickup point (30 minutes)

Simple parking, not really a camping, just space for park and a kitchen facilities.

Room units seems to be nice, but for vans slot, there’s not too much.

Sink, 2 tubes, one for cold other for hot water, this is not good for winter, much better would be 1 tube for both.

The worst of the 10 campings I stayed.

For me was just like a parking

On arrival we where going to book one night possibly two the owner said for us to decide because she only wanted to make out one receipt so we found a nice site facing to water and thought nice so booked

two nights. Our mistake for not checking out the bathrooms and kitchen which are small and very old showers either scalding hot or icy cold but the one shower is free. We paid cash for the two night and first morning at eight asked it we could get our money for the second night because of the noise and mosquitos and where told no. So please beware and do not make the mistake we made and stay here, of the whole of the 28 days we have been in New Zealand both islands this ranks as the worst.

One of our favourite campsites on our 4 week trip.

Really nice owners, we could pick if we wanted to camp at the lake or up the hill. The lake view was just great, the kitchen by the lake was small but worked out and the bathroom and showers were clean. We also used the big common room with pool table, darts. It also had an extra big kitchen and lots of space outside to play soccer or football. And we only payed $39 for 3 on a powered site (winter time).

We had a great stay at Motuoapa Bay Holiday Park.

A great tranquil spot right at the lake, great views, extremely friendly owners who were super helpful to my boyfriend who strained his ankle during the toringa crossing, and clean amenities. One shower only, but as the campground is small and it was quiet this wasn't a problem at all. Would definitely recommend!
