Kelly and Wiremu were amazing and super accommodating.

Loved every Minute, one of the best i visited in NZ so far.

We loved being by the beach and coastal walkway!
The cabin was cute, and it was so great to hear the sea as we slept.

Nice facilities, great being so close to the water.
My site had water drainage issues so a bit difficult getting in and out of campervan in the rain.
Thanks for your review, Katie. We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and sorry to hear about the water on the ground. Although our sandy soil generally drains well, we are always keen to improve any problem areas, so if you let us know via email what site you were on, we'll definitely take a look and see if it's on our list already or add it to the list of things to have a look at!

Not sure why it has so many high reviews.
It has beach access sure, but other than that, it is a very average park. It is not bad, but it is not great either, just your average park. I did question the site they put me, as I have a very large motor home, and now I will have to reverse it out and thread the needle of cars parked from all the tents in the same row. Those were empty when I arrived, so they could have had better foresight and put us there.

With bookings for different lengths of times, groups etc. site allocation is not always as simple as it first seems; especially on those days where every site in the park is booked, with many booked a year in advance. That said, I'm sorry to hear that the site we allocated didn't work so well for your camper. Our reception team do always try to find site allocations that work for people's needs, so if you're staying again in future do feel free to make a note in your bookings and/or give us a call in advance to discuss what might work for you. It was OK very outdated ablution block accepted dogs $147 for 2 adults 3 nights Very large grounds lots of area for kids to romp take dogs for walks etc

Lovely place nice and clean great showers love places that our dog is welcome lots of places to take him for a walk

This was our 4th time camping at Fitzroy Beach Holiday Park and it is our absolute favourite place to go on holiday.
Jenn, Jan and the team at Fitzroy Beach Holiday Park are always welcoming, the sites are clean and very generous in size, bathrooms and showers excellent, kitchen always clean and tidy and the rubbish and recycling well laid out and emptied every single day. It is situated along the Coastal Walkway which we scootered every day, the beach is a mere 30 steps from where we camp and very close to the surf club for a coffee, snack or ice-cream on a hot day. Campground is for all ages and we love that it is dog friendly (we don't have pets but enjoy seeing everyone on holiday with their dogs). Everyone is respectful and friendly, it is a very safe campground and we will definitely be back. Don't miss the opportunity of experiencing this wonderful campground.

This was our first experience of a modern holiday park (July 2020).
It certainly delivers on up to date facilities and cleanliness tho lacks the ambiance of “original” NZ campgrounds. Helpful/pleasant holiday park staff; dump station and water; showers included; great cafe/coffee at the Surf Lifesaving Club nearby and make sure you go upstairs to the lookout room for sun and views. Park is close to central New Plymouth with the bonus of a walk/biking path into town and north of the park. Also check out the iSite and very good small museum in the same building.

First campground we stayed at on our NZ road trip.
Spent 3 nights and loved it. Very clean and well maintained.
2.5km walk to town and coffee kiosk 200m at surf club.
Staff friendly and very helpful.
Dogs on lead in camp but great walks along beach or cycle/walking paths. Definitely recommend and would stay again 😊😊

Lovely motor camp on a fine day, but can get a bit breezy at times.
Friendly and helpful hosts. Plenty of space with access to the beach just a few steps. Conviently located beside the wonderful coastal cycle and walkway. The amenities are a bit light for a camp of this size. We’d happily stay here again.

A very well equipped camp, even a heater in the bathroom, luxury in the middle of winter.
Great security with code locks on bathroom doors. Friendly and helpful staff, will stay again.
