We stayed Easter weekend 2022.
We had a self-contained caravan site. Our site was very nice - probably one of the best in the camp, grass was well mowed etc and gravel to park caravan on. The pool isn’t heated so very cold to swim in although the kids had a dip. The showers and toilets were dated but clean. Friends had a cabin which for $200ish per night really deserves an upgrade. Very convenient for golfers and those that like to fish. A lot of permanent sites which were unoccupied so not a super friendly atmosphere although we made friends with our lovely neighbours!!

Hoping for a last fun night in our camper, stated pool, mini golf, lots of things to do.
Golf was very run down and shut off, pool was covered, and other activities (table tennis) has all balls missing. 3G is awful here, so we paid for wifi, which also is useless. Rather disappointed, wouldn’t recommend.

We are disappointed to hear you did not enjoy your stay at our park. We trust you found our clean facilities and timer free showers were useful in preparation for your next flight. We have never closed the mini golf, and we have the clubs and balls at the office for customers to come and use. Recently we have had unseasonal heavy rain that flooded some of the minigolf area. We don't charge any fees for the minigolf . It is earmarked for upgrade it in the future. The pool cover is left on the pool in inclement and cooler weather as it helps to keep the water as warm as possible. Camp staff are happy to remove it when a customer requests. On sunny days the pool cover is removed. The table tennis balls are available at the office as the signs in the TV room clearly outline.
We feel that if you had communicated with our friendly staff your stay would have been a lot more enjoyable at our camp. Generally all this information is given to you at the time of check in, so we will make sure that in the future the customers are clearly made aware of how to access the pool, mini golf, and the ping pong balls.
Regarding the wifi, if you have a NZ sim card with Spark or Vodafone you will get 4g coverage at the camp. If you are with one of the other companies it may cause some problems. This will be the case in many areas in New Zealand.

We stayed there for a week recently.
Lovely and friendly staff. All facilities are clean. Very handy for campers for cooking as pans, ovens, stove, BBQ are all available. Toilets are clean, shower pressure is great. Great play ground for kids. Only downside was there was a big group of camper came to the site towards the end of our stay, they were not friendly and respect to other campers on the site. Kids were swearing to other kids in playground; kids made racial comments towards other kids; people played loud music in the kitchen while they were cooking, even when other asked them to lower the volume of the music, they just ignored. We complained to the office, we were told they already had a word with them. Maybe the management team can set up some rules for big group of campers when they arrive. Other than that, great place for camping.

We paid 44 for a powered site for our camper van in early January.
We chose this particular place because a few others closer to Auckland were already booked, and here they answered the phone! We were very pleased with this find for our first night in NZ. The location is lovely, with some very nice facilities (including a pool), obviously a family-friendly place as many Kiwis were having a fun holiday weekend. There are views of the water from some spots on this site. Pretty friendly. There is a great takeaways shop a short drive away.

Our permanent campers don't live here, they have a holiday camper or unit to be used for holiday purposes.
We have just upgraded the women's showers a few months ago. They are now running on gas and have good pressure. We also took out the old panels and shower heads and put some new ones in the shower cubicles.
We have now put in new toilets for the Men's and Women's shower block.

There are some bad reviews about this Holiday Park's managers/owners however it is under new management now and there are NO cameras in the toilet/showers.
The new owner Suzannah said that the first thing they did was to remove them and she was pleasant and helpful. The amenities are clean and functional but the park as a whole could do with a touch of modernisation. We only stayed for 1 night but it was the most expensive paid park we stayed at during our 9 day central North Island tour and it was the only one where we had to pay to have a shower and the meters seemed to give mixed results. The Clarks Beach area is beautiful, just wish we had more time and my boat to go fishing there.

On consultation with other parks in the Auckland /Franklin district our prices are the same or lower.
As new owners we are aware of the need for modernisation and we have begun to work on this. All suggestions are appreciated.
2018 the showers are now part of the fees to stay so no extra payments required anymore.

A unique location close to Airport & Auckland City yet in a peaceful rural & beach setting.
A well run camp with adequate well maintained facilities and a number of leisure facilities. Friendly but firm hosts ensure an inviting & secure environment. A short drive through scenic rural settings to a number of provincial NZ towns provide opportunities for varied dining & shopping. We have stayed there a number of times, have always found the campground and cabins well presented and Mark & Ferdie wonderful hosts.

Lovely beach, camping ground is excellent but it is just a shame that the owner of the lease has not got better people skills his ability to communicate with people is sadly lacking and his respect for
campers privacy by having a camera in the men's toilet facility is appauling and is possibly illegal, even though it is claimed to be a dummy. Management is very controlling and dictatorial and puts campers off. Area excellent, facilities excellent, so close to Auckland so convenient a very pleasant place to stay except for management attitude.

We spent 1 week camping at Clarks Beach from 4th Jan.
Our overall experience was great. Facilities were clean & tidy, everything worked & there were a number of options for entertainment - pool, playground, games room & kayaks & bikes were also advertised. Park was quite full but did not feel overly crowded and there was a really nice family atmosphere about the place. Unsure if it was the owner or manager, but the guys we spoke to were very helpful with questions that we had. We will certainly come back.

Clarks Beach itself is lovely but is ruined by this holiday park that has terrible amentities, the showers don't work properly and theres cameras in the bathrooms which I think is disgusting and possibly
illegal. The ovens in the kitchen barely work and the washing machines and dryers hardly work either, you end up having to do everything twice costing you even more. As for the owner, he is just a money hungry disgusting person, extremely rude, appauling customer service skills and in no way helpful at all, also his park rules and website contridict themselves, nothing is clear and it's your own fault if something does not work properly. Definitely would not recommend to anyone an would definitely suggest staying elsewhere!!!
