Not a bad stop for a couple of nights.
Rather pricey though. The app says $11-20 and the charged me $40 for a powered site per night for the motorhome. Toilets were clean and tidy. Its an old park but well established with lots of shade. Lots of permanent residents here ($245 per week) if you’re interested. Recommended.

- sealed parking campsite - every car has their own table - very cramped, no privacy - friendly Reception - facilities clean, average, enough space - price OK for City camping

Shady area, and some weird people living there full time, and they just won’t leave you alone.
We have experienced it being loud at night. Facilities are alright, but having to pay for showers on top of the site already being pretty expensive (60$ a night for a camper an) is is kind of bad IMO.

It cost me $39 for 1 night, showers cost $1 for 4 minutes ontop of that.
DO NO STAY HERE
I stayed here the last night of my holiday
They didn't even provide cooking utensils in the communal kitchen - you had to not only pay a deposit to rent them, they charged a rental cost on them aswell.
Not a user friendly site at all.
Tiny tv in tv room.
Facilities were clean.

We stayed here for the last night that we had our motorhome for a three week holiday.
This was one of the most expensive campsites that we stayed at and the only campsite where we had to pay extra to use the showers. Although it was only $1 for a 9 minute shower, I found the principle irritating as we had already paid €40 to stay there for the night.
I was disappointed that my husband was asked to provide a security bond of $50 even though we were paying the nights camp fees upfront, we were never asked to pay this at any other campsite. This fee was waived once my husband had bought shower tokens and paid for 24 hours of wifi at a cost of €15. We were told that the wifi code could only be used on one device but actually found that it could be used on more than one.
There's not an awful lot to do near this campsite and it isn't very picturesque. We had wanted to stay at the Takapuna Beach Holiday Park which is in a lovely setting but they were fully booked, If you want somewhere pretty to stay I would try Takapuna first, although I cant comment on their facilities.
Having grumbled about the above the positives about this campsite were that the toilets, shower and kitchen facilities were clean and well maintained.

Without doubt, this was the worst of the 31 campsites we stayed at in NZ – being outrageously expensive (almost double the price of the next most expensive we visited), crowded, muddy, with a low quality
TV and the cheek to charge extra for a shower. The friendliness of the girls at reception didn't come anywhere near compensating for the rest.

I have stayed here a few times over the last few years.
It is a central, clean and reasonably priced place to stay on the Northshore. Customer service is great, but overall experience is let down by a few important things: VERY uncomfortable beds (well in the 3 units I have stayed in), old linen and TERRIBLE pillows, and pitiful showers. All pretty important things for a business traveler like myself. Fix these - and I'll come back.
