Staff really helpful and friendly. Our 2nd stay and we found the 2 bdrm self-contained (bed linen & blankets with towels included) accommodation modestly furnished CLEAN, Full sized oven and fridge/freezer with enough kitchenware, blankets etc to service 5 people. Our unit was serviced daily with clean towels and tidy up.
I can see a positive difference between my last stay and this.... Can tell current managers/owners/staff are working on the facilities and park surroundings.

We had a family cabin which could have slept 6 but we were only 2 people.
Superb value for money.
Easy booking
Friendly staff.
Really comfortable bed and a fridge in our room (the first one that's not been frozen up!)
Good kitchen facilities and lovely to have your own allocated crockery and cupboard. Nice dining areas (inside and outside) and lounge area.
The washroom facilities are dated but there are lots of toilets 😀 and the showers are brilliant.
Nice view of the river and only 10 minutes to Paihia.
Highly recommend.

I was charged $20 for my dog which weighs just over 10kgs and according to their policy, is therefore classified as a big dog.
When I queried the amount I was told that big dogs are a nuisance.
However whilst I was walking my dog in the grounds of the holiday park she was attacked by an unleashed dog which belongs to one of the permanent residents. They apologised but I certainly won't stay here again. There are other much friendlier parks in the area.

Highly recommend beautiful place to stay especially with a huge group like we had.
Lisa and her partner (managers) went out of their way to make my dads 50th and our stay at the holiday park memorable, fun and relaxing. Quiet and safe and clean. We had heaps of noisey kids and sometimes adults and we had no issue. Has a park and pool and sports gear to hire. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY for groups big or small. The only downside id have to say was the staring neighbour in the motor homes (who stays and works there) and the fact you HAVE to be vaccinated. Id love unvaxxed to enjoy that place as we did.
Thank you Lisa for the awesome stay !

Pretty location, but right on the main road.
Cabin was made of concrete, so cold, but tidy. Need to pay $8 for bed linen or can bring your own.
However the female toilets were a mess. There were multiple blocked & not fixed over the days we stayed here.
The kitchen was clean and it was nice to have our own assigned cutlery, but not a huge range of cooking facilities and had to pay to use barbecues.

We stayed here summer 2021 and 2023, but can confidently say will never ever go back here again.
I believe there was a change of ownership between this period. On the first morning we woke up to sewage coming towards our tent, which was about 10m from the leaking site. Actual poops lay on the ground. Luckily we were able to re-locate to another site before it leaked onto the grass. The river and supplied kayaks were the main reasons we came back but the river was out of bounds. So many trees have been removed along the river and with the rain we had that week, the area become muddy very quickly. We found the facilities clean, however, the water had a soapy texture so we immediately stopped drinking it (even though it's claimed to be safe). We were kindly offered a nights refund by the receptionist for our experience however still waiting for it/any communication from the owner about this.

Heartbreaking how downhill this campsite has gone.
We stayed here after a previous experience but the new owners have run this place into the ground. Within 8 hours of our stay the sewerage had flooded the driveway and adjoining campsites, no one came to talk to the campers or explain what was going on, children and campers walking through silage and the family camping on the site had to bring the issue up to the campground before it was addressed. Found out this was an ongoing issue and was leaking into the river meaning the river wasn’t safe for swimming, one of the main reasons we had come to the site. The next day the drain on other side of the ablution block also blew, it covered our camp gear in sewerage as we were trying to pack up to leave.
The website has not been updated to advise the public of any changes and still advertise the river as safe when it hadn’t been for months. There was no hot water, we were surrounded by literal shit and the owners have no interest in making this a safe and clean place for families to visit.

Wish I could give it zero, genuinley don’t know how these new owners have any good reviews.
Can Honeslty say it’s the worst site we have been on after travelling the north and south islands extensively. Bathrooms filthy dirty no hooks on doors etc. also we’re not cleaned once during the stay and it was obvious (wet tissues near sinks for duration, tissues on floor and waste in toilets) water was only luke warm not “hot” camp kitchen was beyond words, nothing worked and just plain filthy. Could of dealt with this as we could cook in our own van however Jenny and Murray are the rudest people we had the misfortune of coming across. Attitude on the phone and when checking in. Murray constantly checking what everyone’s doing and left us feeling quite uncomfortable. Made my girlfriend feel especially uncomfortable and came across very creepy. Threatened us for using the wrong bin on accident and spoke to my girlfriend (aged 25) like only a bully would! He humiliated us Infront of other campers trying to enjoy there stay. He Made us feel uncomfortable the whole stay as we didn’t want to be around him. He spoke down to us the whole time whether it was because we were young and he felt he had “power” over us or he is just genuinley not a nice guy. We wanted to leave however he told us “good luck” when asked if we could have a refund and leave. We are not the type to complain at all as we are very open minded however this was our last night in NZ and we felt it had been completely ruined and was such a shame to end our trip on such a bad note. They are both in the wrong industry if they can’t speak to people with respect. The whole bin issue could of been handled so well however Murray chose to be aggressive, entering our van and swearing at my girlfriend. We were both very shook up for the rest of our stay and couldn’t wait to leave unfortunately. I can only hope that this review helps other young couples or infact any other guests steer clear of this site

Stayed for one night, very quiet while we were there and had a pitch by the river.
Cooking facilities not very good with only individual hobs which took ages to work, it was a bit dirty in places and showers, kitchens need a bit of updating. The hosts were very nice and I don’t’ know how they manage on their own, as things are beginning to show. We hired a couple of canoe’s and a lovely trip up the river to see the waterfall.

Great campground.
Good tent sites, but you should avoid pitching under the eucalyptus trees if it's windy - they have a penchant for dropping limbs! Hot showers were free and a complimentary wife allowance of 1gB a day is provided. Was unable to log in from my tent, and had to walk to the kitchen to do this. Only downside is there's a TV in the kitchen which some campers insist on turning on. Surprised it hasn't been sabotaged!

What a wonderful place!
We will be back in summer and will bring more family next time!
We had the two room cabin and it was beautiful, better than many hotel rooms I have stayed at! Next time we will try camping, the camp facilities look lovely and well maintained.
The property is only a few minutes drive to towns and all amenities but the river running alongside the whole camp is so calming and beautiful that I would happily just sit and enjoy it all day.
We are keen to try the Pizza Oven when we come again, if I had of known it was here I would have brought more supplies!
Don't miss this place, it's calming and beautiful! Everything you want in a holiday without the major price tag!

Large nice camp ground with some cabins.
Huge kitchen and many free showers/toilets, lounge with TV and pool billiard, kids playground, small pool. The camp is directly located at the river. Watch your children! And after sunset millions of mosquitos. Free choice of our pitch. Most pitches are under big trees with picnic tables. "Far away" from Paihia. Have to move the camper van to get to town (7.5km).
