We had a lovely one night stay for $25 per adult with 2 kids free.

Older site but the facilities are immaculate, the reception so friendly and welcoming, camper dump site and water fill station handy, clean and with soap. Great night sky and water views. Lovely soft green grass. 10mins walk to a supermarket. Generally quiet - only one douff stuff car drove past at night. Only catch was toilet block light timing out mid showering mum and kids but enough light to see to get out and turn back on. Lovely hot water.

Not special, very crowded and therefor a little dirty facilities.

We paid 70 dollars for a small unpowered tent side for 2 persons. It's a very bad price-quality value.

    Beautiful sunset and sunrise.

During the winter it was quiet and safe.

Facilities were good and well maintained.

Dump station, potable water, hot shower, kitchen, a nice view and super close to the main attraction. What else can we ask for?

    Reasonable 4G reception.

Free hot showers, 2 kitchens (one with an oven).

Laundry facilities. water and dump site. Lovely staff who saw we were a mum and 2girls and made sure our site was near amenities. No extra charge for powered site at the time. Super clean. Walking distance to Waitangi (a must-do and well worth the $25 - give you 2 days of access). Beach front is tidal and estuary so not a swimming beach but one of the best in our trip.

    The place is not bad.

By the water with beautiful sunsets. Very close to Paihia. Secure. Bathroom has a locked door and the site has a closed gate (locked at 7pm). But it can be noisy (people screaming, dogs barking, a rooster singing). The facilities are basics. The light in the bathroom (motion detector) goes out after a few minutes. So you will shower in the dark if it’s not daytime.

My wife, our 7 month young baby and me liked this campground a lot.

We stayed in our station wagon for two weekdays and not on public holiday - therefore it was not crowded. Very kind and helpfull lady at the reception, free wifi, free hot shower, nice kitchen, some unpowered spots with trees on the tent campside. Walking distance (5min) to a countdown supermarket and also not too far away by foot to Paihai.

Don't go for the more expensive waterview campsite option, you can basically see the water from every campsite you stay on.

Loud party in the night, which managers (who even weren't present) didn't consider disturbing and at first refused to believe there even was noise.

So I don't recommend if you are looking for a calm place. Otherwise facilities are OK but a bit old but still working. Not many sites in shade!

Clean, peaceful pleasant grounds and facilities in a very good location overlooking the estuary of the river.

It is close enough to Paihia to walk but distant enough to feel away from the busyness of the tourism. Pricey for a riverfront spot ($60ppn for a powered site-good job we had a Rankers Deal discounting price to $50)

    We liked this holiday park.

Motorhome / campervan pitches are in groups of 4, but still a reasonable amount of room. 2 laundry rooms, but each only has 2 washing machines and 1 dryer. Lovely views of the Waitangi river. We didn't use the kitchens. A bit chilly in the bathroom for showers, but the showers were free when we visited in mid-October, and the water pressure and temperature was ok.

There are footpaths all the way from the holiday park to the main beach if you want to walk back to Paihia. There is a little grass ramp into the river, but for most of the day the river is very far out from the ramp with only un-walkable mud before the river water.

Lots of friendly ducks in the surrounding area.

Great spot at the outskirts of town Paihia. A Countdown supermarket about 3 minutes walk.

When taking a boat tour the next day the owner let you park your campervan at the lawn. About 20 minutes walk to the ward.

    - Showers are 2 dollars.

    - 6 bbq which can by used freely

    - we paid 44 dollars for 2 persons at a powered site.

The camp was almost empty, we got a waterfront powered camp site where we enjoyed the sunset over the water.

Free barbecue and a clean kitchen even if a bit small compared to the camp size. A few kilometers away in Pahia you can take a small boat to Russell, just in front of i-Site. Much more better and interesting then Pahia itself. Then in Waitangi we visited the Treaty Grounds and we learned a bit of NZ history.

Great and convenient location to visit the Waitingi treaty ground and museum.

The view on the bay of Islands is simply stunning and worth the stay.

However, we stayed 2nights over Easter and the facilities got quite busy and noisy as one could expect. The bathroom/toilets were at full capacity. There were only 4 showers (2 in 2different buildings) total for women and 4 for men. The wait was long as campers were not mindful of the time spent in the shower.

Also, they got very dirty as there were more people using them. I communicated and shared to the management rules we saw in other campgrounds that seemed to work well: they could anticipate and clean during the evening during peak days and they could put a sign regarding the use of shower.

Last but not least, contrary to most campgrounds we visited the kitchen were not well-equiped (no cutlery, no pot, no pan).

We stayed for 4 nights in September and it was one of the highlights of our month in NZ.

Powered sites in rows under trees with scattered shared picnic tables. Facilities are modern and clean. Large kitchen, laundry has commercial grade machines and there's a clothes line out back if you have good weather and don't want to pay for the drier. TV lounge has comfy furniture. Located about half an hour walk to Paihia cafes/shops/ferry. Shuttle bus services come here for the tours to hole-in-the-rock and Cape Rienga. Park management were very helpful and friendly. Sunrises are sensational after a short walk to the bridge, or over to the yacht club. Would come back for sure.

Big camping ground, had booked a riverfront site prior to arrival but on arrival the staff member said he had given our spot away to someone else so put us in the corner on the riverfront as there were

no more spots available. But the view was fantastic and right on the Waitangi river so I was happy with our space. We had our own picnic table too which was a bonus. Kitchen was quite small and it was very busy when we stayed. The washing up area is tiny too, (separate area from the cooking area) for such a big campsite. Everyone was crammed in doing their dishes. The showers were fantastic though and toilets were clean. I had trouble connecting to the wifi and it kept dropping out.
