  • Nice spot.

Campsite was gravel and grass and a little wet when we were there. Friendly staff at reception and facilities were clean. We walked into town from there (maybe 20 mins) along a nice foreshore path.

  • Nice site, great location.

Lovely lady on reception gave me a powered spot right near the water, beautiful spot to watch the sun go down.

Only 1 of the facilities blocks were open so only a couple of toilets and showers for everyone but seemed to work out ok.

Kitchen and laundry on site too if required.

20 min walk into town and/or Countdown supermarket at the end of the road.

  • We were self contained so didn’t go into the kitchen nor use the washing facilities.

    Friendly office staff

    Toilets and showers clean.

Close walk to Waitangi Treaty Grounds. Probably one of the more pricier places we’ve stayed.

Recommend as a place to stay

  • We had a lovely one night stay for $25 per adult with 2 kids free.

Older site but the facilities are immaculate, the reception so friendly and welcoming, camper dump site and water fill station handy, clean and with soap. Great night sky and water views. Lovely soft green grass. 10mins walk to a supermarket. Generally quiet - only one douff stuff car drove past at night. Only catch was toilet block light timing out mid showering mum and kids but enough light to see to get out and turn back on. Lovely hot water.

  • Not special, very crowded and therefor a little dirty facilities.

We paid 70 dollars for a small unpowered tent side for 2 persons. It's a very bad price-quality value.

  • We're camping here, and the place is absolutely packed.

The maintenance is terrible. The grass in the camping area is over 10 cm high, which the person who assigned us our spot even acknowledged. The area next to our tent is full of dog poop. After 10 PM, people are blasting music from speakers, talking loudly, and kids are playing with balls in the middle of the campsite. The bathrooms are disgusting with so many people. The kitchen has only one double-door refrigerator for over 80 people, if not more. If you're looking for a peaceful camping spot, this is not the place. I would not recommend this place at all.

  • Beautiful sunset and sunrise.

During the winter it was quiet and safe.

Facilities were good and well maintained.

Dump station, potable water, hot shower, kitchen, a nice view and super close to the main attraction. What else can we ask for?

    Reasonable 4G reception.

  • Free hot showers, 2 kitchens (one with an oven).

Laundry facilities. water and dump site. Lovely staff who saw we were a mum and 2girls and made sure our site was near amenities. No extra charge for powered site at the time. Super clean. Walking distance to Waitangi (a must-do and well worth the $25 - give you 2 days of access). Beach front is tidal and estuary so not a swimming beach but one of the best in our trip.

  • Lots of room, beautiful views, friendly staff, clean facilities.

Kitchen isn't stocked and no freezer just fridge. Showers are hot & clean, water pressure gentle. Would 100% come back. $20 for an unpowered site with one adult.

  • My wife, our 7 month young baby and me liked this campground a lot.

We stayed in our station wagon for two weekdays and not on public holiday - therefore it was not crowded. Very kind and helpfull lady at the reception, free wifi, free hot shower, nice kitchen, some unpowered spots with trees on the tent campside. Walking distance (5min) to a countdown supermarket and also not too far away by foot to Paihai.

  • The place is not bad.

By the water with beautiful sunsets. Very close to Paihia. Secure. Bathroom has a locked door and the site has a closed gate (locked at 7pm). But it can be noisy (people screaming, dogs barking, a rooster singing). The facilities are basics. The light in the bathroom (motion detector) goes out after a few minutes. So you will shower in the dark if it’s not daytime.

  • Not bad.

'waterside lots' aren't really waterside, locals singing and shouting late at night, toilets aren't the best, better off staying at a top 10 for same price!

  • Great holiday park - good showers, clean kitchen and a lot of room for your campervan.

Don't go for the more expensive waterview campsite option, you can basically see the water from every campsite you stay on.
