We received an incredibly warm welcome from Brian at reception.
The facilities were top-notch—the kids remarked that the bathrooms felt like those in a fancy restaurant. We enjoyed daily walks with stunning views and had a fantastic waterfront site. They even allowed us a late check-out at no extra charge when our son wasn't feeling well. A visit to the local Mangawhai Museum is a must to appreciate the history behind the views and the surrounding area. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend this campground. 10/10!

Off peak $50 for 2ppl on an unpowered site.
Absolutely beautiful location by the estuary - great sunrise. But facilities were just ok for that price. Hot showers cost an extra $1 for 5 mins. No crockery or utensils in the kitchen. Toilets were very clean but showers had lots of sand all over (perhaps inevitable given the location, but they could remind campers to rinse their feet using the tap just outside!)

Tried booking online for that night and it said there was no availability.
After calling I was told to book for the following day as there was space. Arrived a few hours later and found my space with no issue. Directions on email we’re clear & helpful. Toilet’s were clean, wifi was a plus. Campervans get a waterfront spot which was nice. Loved being able to have pooch and liked how all dogs were on leash.

Whole areas empty!! Had a wonderful day on the beach ( that is not a beautiful white beach as said!) made the best of it..

Pretty good place overall.
Great location but was a bit boggy on a lot of places so muddy trips to bathrooms in the night. Shower block was super clean but kitchen could have done with a freezer. Solid 7.5. Would stay again

Great location.
Kids play ground available, tidy kitchens and toilets. Some reviewers say showers are at a price, but only hot ones. Cold showers all good.
Big tidy fridges. BBQ areas, lots of camping sites. If booking in advance you can pick a location I. E. Near the facilities or kids park. If you think weather will be windy then choose the area towards West near the cliff.
Kitchen power point has 4 usb charging also in case you forget power plug.

The location and view right at the beach is great.
The camp ground is huge. The pitches with power are big but next to each other, no privacy. A lot of local campers, some permanent. The kitchen is good and clean, no seating inside. The washrooms are beachlike, nothing special. Friendly hosts.

The area it's on is very big and spacious which is nice.
All the blocks are very clean and tidy. However no one mentioned the showers- you have to put coins in a machine stuck to the wall to run up the time (make sure you have some) for the price of what you pay for one night it's very cheeky having to pay for the showers on top of that as well as not being told, or on the information sheet.
Doesn't seen to have a lot to it. The beach around the corner is the only reason we have stayed here but pulling up I even said "it doesn't look very appealing" for a 'diamond' place to say- it will do for a night or 2.
