We recently traveled across New Zealand from the South Island to the North Island over 11 days, and our experience with Waka Camp was absolutely amazing!
The campervan was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained — we had no problems at all throughout our entire trip.
As first-time campervan travelers, we had a lot of questions, but the customer service was outstanding. They were available 24/7 to assist us whenever we needed help. A special thanks to Max, who guided us through everything and made the whole process so easy and stress-free.
This journey became one of our most memorable trips, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support from Waka Camp. Highly recommend them to anyone planning a road trip around New Zealand!

It's a good van to rent.
Plenty of space for myself . Little rough on gas though. But maybe all the vans are like that. It was a wonderful way to explore the South Island!!

We, my husband and I, rented a Waka Campa for four weeks and had a great time.
The process of picking up and dropping off the camper is 100% digital through the Waka Campa app and it worked very well. The videos provided by Waka Campa easily explained how everything works e.g. water system, electricity, porta potty. The camper was very clean and in good condition. It is not a luxurious camper, but that is not what we were looking for. For two people the motorhome is great, but for four people it might be a little cramped.
During our trip we contacted Waka Campa a few times via whatsapp and they got back to us immediately. They were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we had a small accident but thanks to our "Piece of Mind Insurance" we just informed Waka Campa and they took care of everything. So we didn't have to worry and we were able to continue our trip.
If we ever have the honor of traveling the long way from Germany to New Zealand again, we would definitely book Waka Campa again. Thank you for the great experience.

Booking with Waka Campa is straightforward, the user information videos are helpful and the company is quick to answer queries.
Picking up & dropping off the van is all automated but will take you around 30-mins to fill in forms & take photos. The van is easy to drive & set up on campsites. It is cosy & fine for a couple but in our opinion would be too small for a larger group. I think the design would be better if just one side door opened and the other side was used for storage. The double bed is fine - not too claustrophobic and great it’s a permanent set up. The oven works well too. We used campsite sinks, showers & loos so didn’t need to use those on the van.

Really good campervan hire.
The campervan was clean and well prepared for the trip. Help was provided via whatsupp if there were any issues. Pick up and drop off was easy and straightforward. We had no issues with small chips in the windows that we got during the trip, everything was covered by insurance. I would highly recommend WakaCamp for your New Zealand trips!

Great camper for 2 people - fits any parking space and very easy to drive - comes with bedding and all kitchen accessories and their customer service is fantastic (we kept the rear seat folded down with
the quilt over as a bench to give us extra space in the back)

Waka campers were very easy to book and communicate with throughout the process.
Overall we were very happy with our camper, had everything you could need or think of, including camping chairs, hot water bottles etc. - although they did forget to put a second duvet in for my companion traveller, and the upstairs roof window leaked onto the "upstairs" mattress. Unfortunately, we were out of reception so couldn't contact them about this, but we managed our trip fine regardless.
The check-in / check-out process was awesome. All self-administered, using an online portal to take and submit photos of your vehicle Was quite fancy and easy to use!
Customer service leading up to our trip was awesome, responses were timely and the responder very friendly and helpful.
Overall - would definitely use again!

Van réservé pour 3 personnes en mars.
Seulement 2 sièges pour les repas. Pour le couchage 1 seule couette, 1 couverture et deux mini plaids pour enfant. Même pas assez pour avoir chaud pour un seul des lits.
Quasiment pas de rangements alors qu'il y aurait de la place d'en mettre. Une place énorme prise par un toilette dans lequel aurait pu être mis une douche. Mais non pas de douche. Van vraiment minimaliste.

We booked our van using the Waka Website, really easy.
Service was great and the follow up to questions, excellent. The Waka team did a great job for us. I would use them again if having the opportunity.

Rental pick up was easy, van was comfortable to sleep in, pillows were old and need to be replaced, van is also old and showing its age.
Glass wear in the kitchen is a bad idea should be tin or plastic. Inverter not working when van was not plugged in. 12v plug in dash not working to charge phone while driving.
Unit has everything you need for camping, just needs some maintenance.
