Best paid campsite we’ve stayed in after 2 weeks travelling the north island and the west coast of the South Island.
Facilities were immaculate. The kitchen had pots, pans and cooking utensils. There were plenty of hobs and barbecues. Bathrooms were clean and good showers except be careful as the self contained showers have a gap at the bottom so the next persons shower water can come into your shower cubicle

The place was incredibly cozy and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The amenities were well-maintained, making it feel like a home away from home.
One of the best aspects of Driftaway Queenstown is its convenient location. It is close to the bus route, which made getting around the area a breeze. The easy access to the city allowed us to explore Queenstown without any hassle.
Overall, Driftaway Queenstown exceeded our expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and conveniently located place to stay in Queenstown.

Amazing caravan park with uninterrupted lake views from most sites.
The ski drying cages were convenient and the kitchen facilities spotless and offered amazing sunset views while cooking. The hot tub was well worth the extra cost too!

Really good kitchen, showers/toilets, chill out area, eating area and staff!
I can see why it’s so popular- even in winter I was lucky to get the last spot just showing up at 10am. The views over the lake are great and for $49 (1 person unpowered) I can’t complain at all. Yes it might be more than other sites on your travels but it’s definitely worth it given the location and near Queenstown too.

Hands down the best facilities of any campground I have ever stayed at.
Yes, it is more expensive than most but the value for the money was up there with the best I have experienced. Kitchen was fully kitted out and had the best views in Queenstown to boot, bathrooms plentiful, modern, clean and excellent quality. Hair dryers and straighteners provided- I’ve never known this level of luxury!
Don’t bother booking the “site with a view” unless you’re absolutely sold on needing an unobstructed view across the lake. The whole park looks up at the Remarkables and you can see the mountains from every site.
-1 point for squeezing 3 camper vans into a tiny corner space when half the park was empty, not sure why they would do this! Luckily my neighbours were lovely but it would have been pretty awkward if they were not.

We had the most amazing stay at Driftaway Queenstown.
It was within walking distance of the airport, and our villa was modern with no speck of dust to be found. The amenities were the best we'd ever seen in a caravan park, and the views of the lake were stunning.
We walked into Queenstown from Driftaway which was a fair walk, but prefect for anyone who wants to take in the beautiful scenery.

Really everything was first class!
Spacey site with table. Brillant view to the lake, to the mountains. Excellent washroom, showers, kitchen, dining room and terrace with lake view.
The best campsite we exprrienced by now in NZ.

incredible camping with new and modern facilities.
clean and organized. beautiful common fun spaces. The sites are small, we had to upgrade and pay extra because our car and the tents couldn't fit and in the end We still ended up leaving it parked on the street outside. It was the first time in 30 days of camping that we were in such an expensive campsite with such small sites.

As everyone has said, this place is next level. Amazing facilities, epic views of the lake and easy access down to the water. Not far from central Queenstown. Pretty lux having fully tiled showers in a camp ground! Kids loved the games room that had lots to do at no extra cost. A++

Nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes.
The first thing that struck me upon arrival was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff at Driftaway were friendly, knowledgeable, and went out of their way to ensure a seamless check-in process.
The campsites were well-maintained and spacious.
The amenities at Driftaway were top-notch. Clean and well-equipped restrooms and shower facilities. The communal areas were well-maintained and provided the perfect setting for socializing with fellow campers.

Such an amazing campsite!
It is much more pricey than others around NZ but it’s worth it for the facilities and location. The view of the lake is amazing. Toilets/showers/kitchen/games room all perfect. We got bus in and out of Queenstown $2 each way with bee card which you can buy from bus driver! We loved it so much we stayed 5 nights

Great service from this campsite.
I lost some of my personal belongings and discovered after we had already left town. They were so helpful, managed to find it, and mailed it to another holiday address within one day. Campsite facilities were also great, as was the view.

Liked it so much we stayed 3 nights rather than 1.
New facilities are excellent (best we’ve had and worth the price) - proper hot showers, clean toilets, handy family bathrooms, decent kitchen and we used the grill/bbq. Stayed in our motorhome and loved the view of the lake / mountains. Free WiFi strong enough we even managed a FaceTime call.

Undoubtedly the best camping we found in NZ so far.
Huge, clean with very good facilities and amazing spot in front of the lake. It was nice to go to the wharf and take the boat to the city center. Perfect for our week in Queenstown!

Big (>100 sites) new campsite in the suburb of Frankton, Queenstown.
Spectacular view of the lake if you book a lakeview spot. Modern facility hub with plenty of showers, toilets, family room available, huge kitchen and a balcony (and view) that you want for your own house. You will have to walk up two stairs if you’re on one of the lower sites (there’s an elevator too I think, didn’t use it). Jumping pillow, slide, and Lego (a.o.) in the games room for the kids. The campsite is fenced to keep kids in and others out. Oh, the airport is sort of behind it so expect to see planes taking off or landing (which can be a good or bad thing). Tip: take the water taxi from Frankton Marina (10 minute walk from Driftaway) into Queenstown and save yourself the hassle of parking your campervan.

Our favourite paid site during our 6 week trip. Stunning views over the lake, close to Queenstown, friendly staff. Best facilities we experienced - amazing bathrooms with lots of clean hot showers, mirrors, hairdryers and straighteners. Dump station. Proper laundry room - like a laundromat. Water sources by each site. Highly recommend!
