    Super campsite.

Quiet spot for the night, it fills quickly, came early.

A ranger came as soon as we parked to check if we had a toilet and if it fits in the van.

There are flush clean toilets two blocks away and the bar next door offers showers for 5$ (and a pool table)

    7 slots for self-contained vans.

Ranger comes in the evening to check. A water source but no toilets on site. The public toilets are at 5‘ walking. Recommend getting there early.

Only a few campers can park here - I think there were only 6 or 7 spots.

We doubled up on the end spot. The pub next door serves a delicious roast amongst other things - really appreciated the home cooking. Also offers hot showers for $5.

    Lovely little spot.

Right behind the Inn. Wasn’t loud being a Tuesday night. Friendly horse in the paddock behind the park enjoyed a pat. Would come back again. Closest public toilets is at the playground 400m away. Dumping facility was great.

Great spot, handy to the centre of town and right next to the pub.

Tap for water, large bin, public toilets about 200m walk away. Large, clearly defined spaces for parking. Only a couple of other campers were there when we stayed, but this was while Aucklanders couldn't travel so it could be busier normally

Great place for a night, quiet throughout the night and away from the through road.

4 vans here last night. View of horses and sheep in the paddock across the valley makes it quite picturesque.

Lovely lady at the isite gave us heaps of info regarding walks around etc. It seems the freedom camping site is in a trial period and will only continue if people respect the surrounding houses with noise etc. Huge bin for rubbish and a dumpstation right there with drinking water- great place for free in the Catlins. Thank you to the local

    Council.

Great we spot for a overnight rest.

As stated by others it has 8 parks and are a generous 4 mtr wide. You could park a 10 mtr bus if needed to. Pently of space to maneuver large caravan to. Pub 50 mtrs away and main part of town easy walk. Rubbish fresh water and dumpstation on site. Well done Owaka. 👍

We only used the dump station facilities - they were great.

The overnight area looks much better than the photos show with a lovely rural outlook. It's a great location close to the i-site and shops. Showers are available next door for $5. Wished we had stayed here.

Neat spot in a quiet area with lovely views.

Friendly ranger comes in the evening to check for self contained vehicles. The Inn next door has hot showers for 5$, there's a 4 square supermarket, information centre, museum and playground with public toilets all within few minutes walk. Would gladly use again.

Free dump and water refill station.

Next to a bar and 4 mins walk from public toilet. View is not spectacular but you get to look over the valley.
