Two kiwi brothers passionate about travel; especially in a camper. After hiring campervans across the world we know that it can be a scary and often confusing experience.

We made plenty of mistakes along the way. Therefore we want to be upfront and honest so that you don’t have to make the same mistakes we did.

We developed the Barefoot camper concept to give functionality at an extremely low price. As well as a functional camper we offer extremely personalised service with you having a single point of contact for your whole hire. No getting lost in call centers, you have a direct line to your host who understands your journey and wants to help.

Rented a van from Barefoot Vans for a month and they were GREAT to deal with.
We loved our turquoise van and felt part of a small club as we drove around the North and South island spotting similar turquoise vans. James was VERY attentive to all of our needs and questions. We had some issues with our starter one afternoon, and he had a local mechanic on it in no time and got us on our way quickly. After our rental was completed, I reached out for some travel advice and James was always willing to help, and offer advice.

Supporting a small family business like Barefoot Vans is easy when their customer service is so fantastic. I'd recommend them and their vans to anyone looking for a fun adventure!

We absolutely loved our experience with Barefoot Campers.
They were super relaxed and helpful throughout the whole process and offer a really great deal compared to a lot of their competitors. We had everything we needed for the trip of a lifetime and would definitely recommend anyone wanting to travel at a reasonable cost to go with them.
