We chose Sunrise Holidays for our 2 week campervan trip after reading reviews and considering price and van design.
This was such a great decision! The personal attention and assistance with planning was wonderful. Pick up and drop off was super easy, and right near the Christchurch airport. The Mercedes Sprinter van was in excellent condition and handled the steep and winding roads with ease. Although we didn’t take advantage of it, Sunrise offers free consultation with Cymen Crick, main honcho at Rankers app, regarding trip planning. Since we started planning more than 6 months in advance of our trip, we were able to get very reasonable pricing.
We had an absolutely magical vacation, and Sunrise Holidays played a big part in making things eun smoothly. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We booked our campervan through Sunrise Holidays, after seeing some steller reviews on their service.
That said, we had quite high expectations of them. And they still managed to beat those expectations and deliver an absolutely amazing service! Everyone on their team we had contact with were very helpful and professional. And included in the package was a planning session with Cy (which turned into two sessions as he wanted to make sure we had time to talk through our entire itinerary in detail). We cannot overstate the value of these sessions. Even though we had read up a lot on NZ they added so much value by suggestions on things to see and do that we would never have found by ourselves, on amazing campsites and wonderful walks and activities we could do with the kids. So if (when!) we go back to NZ we would not dream of booking through another company. Thank you Cy and the rest of the Sunrise Team!

Used Sunrise as a broker for a good deal on a 6-berth camper.
Great communication and dealt with issues quickly which made entire hiring process that much smoother.
All questions answered promptly.

My husband and I had an excellent experience renting our campervan from Cy at Sunrise Holidays.
The van was spotless and well appointed, but most impressive was the personal touch Cy offers in making recommendations of where to go and what to see, given an understanding of our personal background and wants/needs. Our first road trip adventure in New Zealand has been amazing, thanks to Sunrise Holidays.

Sunrise Holidays organised a 6 berth motorhome for a 3 week trip for our family of 4 adults.
There's a great deal to consider and plan, lots of information to gather. The service from Sunrise was invaluable in this process. Communication and support were excellent. I had many queries and Sarah's responses were swift, helpful and comprehensive. It was a personalised service. We were allocated a brand new motorhome. We didn't have any issues but I was 100% confident that Sunrise would respond effectively, which gave us confidence on our trip.

They were great to work with.
Very helpful and flexible to meet our needs. They even checked in during our trip to make sure everything was ok. Cy was also a great help planning our route. Our initial call was followed up with several other email conversations to put together the best route for our interests.

Just finished a two week rental with Sunrise.
Campervan was flawless. Handoff and service was great. I’ve rented campervans before in several countries, this was by far the best overall experience.

My fiance and I have nothing but positive things to say about Sunrise, they provided a clean, reliable and versatile vehicle along with all the support we could have possibly needed to provide us with
the trip of a lifetime. We still think back to our campervan 'Trevor' with fondness as it (he) was so comfortable and so versatile. One of the best things about the trip was that we were able to stay where others couldnt and longer than those who could. The solar panels charged througout the day and the gas was so efficient (we only refilled once over our 5 week trip and even then it was still half full) such that we had more than enough power to keep us going wherever we were. So while others were having to travel to the larger campsites to plug in (we met loads of campervanners who were out of power and had to find a large campsite), we were able to pick and choose sites that were off the beaten track, quiet and beautiful (the self contained campsite at the top of Log Race Road in Piha - and its views- were incredible). The Sunrise team offered support every step of the way. When all wrapped together, this meant that we had no worries, no concerns, we were away from the crowds and we could just get on with appreciating how amazing NZ is and enjoying our time away.

Thank you for this amazing campervan experience!
We are a small family of 3 and travelled with our 8 months year old baby for one month with the Sunrise Weka. The interior is beautifully made and there is all you need for travelling, cooking & relaxing in the evening. The overall customer service experience is very good and useful, which was also the reason why we choose you instead of going with a bigger company. It was more personal & local!
We also spent 2 nights at the Koha Campsite with Don, which was one of the highlights of our trip. The place is very peaceful and beautiful, and you can enjoy some good conversations with Don about organic planting and stories about his travels.
There is no publicity on the Campervans which make you feel very local :-)
We'll be back one day and can only recommend Sunrise Holidays to any visitors coming from abroad and looking for the real Kiwi experience!

We travelled the south and north island for 6 weeks in May and June and couldn't be more happy with the 4 berth campervan.
The campervan itself is fully equipped and has a solar panel with a lithium house battery, which you will not find in any other rental campervan, so you only have to plug in at a paid campsite once or twice a week, maybe even less if you have enough sunlight, it saves you a ton of money! With the two of us there was more then enough space and bedding sheets and towels are provided. It also has a stove with 4 burners and a small grill which is a big plus if you like to cook and all cooking equipment is present.
Nathan is a great guy and delivers excellent service, he checked on us regularly during our trip if everything was still ok and he provided the perfect 'off the grid' travel guide, NZ Frenzy, which we used the whole trip. We arrived at Christchurch airport where he brought the campervan and the pickup in Auckland was done at the hotel of our final night, so no hassle for us.
We compared 10-15 rental companies and chose Sunrise which was probably the best decision we made during our stay in NZ. Great offer, great service, great campervan, More then recommended!

Nathan Smith & Sunrise Holidays made our trip!
Our campervan was amazing- fully equipped, very clean with a great solar panel that saved us tones of money 'cause we never had to plug in on campsites. Nathan is the radest person ever!!! He was very attentive, helped us plan our trip on-the-go and was reachable at all times by phone. He made our trip experience so good! Speaking to other campers we realized how different it is to have your campervan owner so available for you eager to assist, so if you are planning on renting a campervan for a NZ trip, do yourself a big favor and do it with Sunrise holidays.
