Very clean facilities, friendly staff, well landscaped camping area with access to free camp tables.
Loved the free BBQ's - fabulous views!
Bird sound lovely to hear - listen hard and you hear kiwis. We were there in November and it was really lovely - not sure what it would be like during the peak times because it really is a lovely location. Fabulous walks close by, two beaches to choose from.

Love it!
Great selection of produce, cheeses, breads, flowers, cakes etc etc. I go there especially to have the ciabatta bread!

We travelled from Auckland up to Cape Reinga and around the Bay of Islands.
The campervan drove beautifully, was very comfortable, spacious and clean with a very well equipped kitchen. We had plenty of room to store our gear, we all slept well in the lovely clean and comfy bedding.
We visited a range of campsites and didn't need to use power sites for any of our week-long adventure. Loved the freedom that the motorhome allowed, as we were entirely independent. Our family agreed that no matter where we were, we would stop at 6pm each day and that was great fun! Created a real sense of adventure!
Our kids are 8 and 4. They loved their little 'home' and especially enjoyed having their own DVD player to watch whilst in bed! We did suggest making some changes to the top bed, as one night our 4 year old fell out of bed.
Hubby drove - made comment that it was really 'easy' to drive, handled the particularly windy roads well and really whizzed along on the motorway!
Only one minor issue with the BBQ, having put in the wrong fitting for the gas bottle - and John tried to sort this out immediately.
All the staff were fantastic, helpful and friendly.
Really awesome adventure - I would highy recommend to anyone wanting a freedom camping adventure! Brilliant!
