Large DOC campsite by the lake.
Great views. Campsite itself can accomodate a lot of vans, but stretched out enough to have your own space. Close enough to Queenstown to jag a cheapie site.
DOC collect fees here even if have pass.

No booking, no problem. Friendly checkin. Facilities are good. Great views of mountains and worthwhile stopover choice. Campervan sites clean & well spaced.

Not a massive site, but enough space for choice of spots. Lake itself is nice with mountain backdrop. 10mins from Hokitika. Limited toilet facilities only.

Excellent facilities (best we have been to on our trip). Friendly enough service; campervan sites overlook the lake & well spaced. Main Street 20mins walk. Great stop on way to Milford sound after drive from Queenstown.

Goods: Last DOC camp on way to Milford.
We stayed end of January. Drinkable stream flowing, mountain views, heaps of camp sites. Friendly DOC staff.
Bad: toilets pretty rough if ur woman or need no.2. Sandflies will destroy you! Most we have encountered on our trip.
