We had the opportunity to travel for 4 weeks around New Zealand in Kiwi Motorhomes' Nate camper what a great experience!
The Camper was great and the service we got, especially the emergency supplies (a bottle of NZ wine!), from Kiwi Motorhomes was superb. All equipment on board work as expected and all the basics we needed where present.
We would absolutely recommend them everything from the first contact through booking pickup and hand-in was smooth. Leon an Varnier are wonderfully relaxed people and we really enjoyed our time with the camper!

The drive up takes you through a lesser suburb of this rural town.
Don’t be discouraged as the campground is the absolute best non-commercial campground we have seen in 4 weeks of travelling through both islands!
On arrival just pick a spot settle in and relax the friendly grounds manager comes by in the evening to collect the fees.
The facilities are are top notch, good clean well lit showers and toilets (they even had linen towels), well equipped kitchen, laundry, games and book exchange, fresh water, powered sites, gas BBQ and everything spotless clean and well maintained. There are a few fire pits scattered around the campground, check with the manager if it’s oke to light them, in summer there could be a fire ban.
We had a great time around the campfire with the other guests roasting marshmallows and telling tall tales...
In short look no further, this is the absolute best you will find!!

Old and run down.
Is the best description I can give. As expected the places by the beach are the same everywhere in the world. Squeeze every last dollar out of your guests. We have traveled all over the South Island and have never paid for showers separately on a commercial campsite (with commercial fees $30,- per night) the facilities are old and very basic albeit clean and the shower was actually not bad (apart from turning cold when the money ran out). The place is very crowded with long term guests who leave their caravans here for the season. Al the empty caravans give the place a gloomy desolate feel. Also they should join the 21st century 100MB free WiFi in 2019 is the same as no free WiFi. The guy at the shop actually made a big deal about it as if he was giving us something really special... All in all more or less good location next to the beach but definitely not worth the $30,- the charge for a campervan with 2 adults.
