1.5/5
We are dissatisfied with the service, they could not offer what they had promised and what we paid for.
- We rented the Seeker (largest and most luxurious model), but this model was not operating due to a defect. They knew this on forehand, but they decided not to inform us before our arrival
- They gave us a Explorer (downgrade) and said we should be happy, as they provided a campervan with the same comfort (definitely not!). The explorer is smaller and is missing the comfortable extras such as awning, XL size fridge/freezer and solar...)
- We received a refund, but this was only NZ $ 25, - (€ 14.70) per day (we travelled 25 days) on a total amount of NZ $ 10.450 (€ 6145, -). The prices are not transparent, so we had to trust them that the difference in price between the Seeker and Explorer is indeed NZ $ 25, - per day.......
- No compensation provided for the inconvenience and the comfort we have missed during our trip
Thank you for this review. We are happy to read that you talk with praise about us and the preliminary phase, but above all: having a comfortable camper holiday in a great Explorer!
A day and a half before transfer, when you probably just got on the plane, we were confronted with a crucial, mechanical error. Of your reserved, just two-year young Seeker motorhome, the acceleration machine had stopped. Not even 52,000 KM on the counter. So rare that the necessary parts were not even in NZ. No lack of maintenance, planning or wear and tear, absolute force majeure!
It is precisely as a small-scale company that we have taken more than our responsibility in this exceptional situation.
By acting quickly, being personally present in Christchurch (our office is 1300 km away) we have done our utmost to ensure that you can enjoy your planned holiday from the first to the last minute.
Due to the delivery time on parts and the holidays, it was unfortunately not even possible to exchange the camper somewhere on location after repairs, as we have also offered.
Yes, the Seeker camper is bigger and has a larger fridge, awning and solar panel, otherwise it is completely the same. At the end of the holiday, in Auckland, Andries praised the comfort of the Explorer, and said that the only thing he had missed was a corkscrew.
Just like Maaike and Andries, we find it really annoying that, due to force majeure (for the first time in 8 years), we could not deliver the booked model. We have repeatedly offered our sincere apologies for this.
The extra costs incurred for the ferry, plus the price difference between the two models as stated in your offer, were transferred immediately. We therefore believe that there has been no financial loss and do not see why a financial compensation is justified.
By delivering a like you say fine Explorer camper, with the same comfort, we think we have done what we stand for: make your dream vacation to New Zealand an unforgettable experience!
