I loved that this is a family owned small business that has been going for decades.
They went the extra mile by dropping our bags that we stored at their depot to our camp ground on our last night so we could pack up. And then opened up extra early the next day so that we could drop off the campervan and catch an early flight. The campervan we had was on the older side but it had been upgraded with solar power and extra large capacity water tanks. These things helped make our experience that much better. It was well maintained and well designed, with felt lined drawers and a specially designed crockery cupboard. This campervan didn't rattle and it was easy to drive. We would not hesitate to use this company again!

We stayed one night and it was peaceful, quiet and spacious.
The toilets were clean and modern. The recycling and rubbish facilities were good. Unfortunately there is a warning sign that the river has ecoli and the water is not potable. The sign says Chamberlain Ford is not contaminated. We stayed 2 Jan 2019.

Stunning views from what is essentially a carpark on the cliff top for about 10 vehicles.
We took a wrong turn and had to back track but found it in the end. There were 3 spots left when we arrived at about 7pm and the other 2 spots were taken soon after we arrived. The toilet was a short walk away at the local sports grounds club rooms. They were clean. We preferred this area to the other one provided down by the port as this was just out of town and the views are amazing.

Most stunning view across the lake to Mt Cook.
Cleanest most modern long drop toilets ever. Three areas to park. We counted 107 vehicles of all shapes and sizes on the night of 4 Jan 2018. Also a handful of pup tents. Surprisingly quiet and peaceful at night, even with that many people. We heard so many different languages been spoken. Felt like a great community for one night. Don't arrive too late during peak season as it will get harder to find a nice spot. We arrived at 2pm and it there were already about 45 vehicles there. The hand sanitiser in the toilets ran out.
