Pleasantly surprised by this stop with our campervan!
Expected just a place off the side of the road but we're treated to a nice spot tucked off the highway with a great sunset, private bathroom including shower, and a few animals (alpalcas, goat, horse, chickens). Free washer (bring your soap) and BBQ use. Campsites looked a little more cramped and it did fill up towards the night but campervan power site was spacious and private

Great location in Mt cook national Park.
Many walks right outside your doorstep. Gets pretty busy by the evening, we arrived around 2pm on a summer Saturday and had plenty of options for our campervan. Gets more filled in by 6-8pm but stays pretty quiet. Flush toilets and clean sinks for water, dishes, etc. Great spot to take some twilight walks for star gazing or listening to avalanches.

Nice views out over the lake for campervans.
Small but good facilities, very clean bathrooms. Hot showers included with good water pressure. Good location to get picked up for a day out on Milford!

We really enjoyed this spot/location to campervan.
Spaces are fairly large and the backdrop of the mountains with beach front access is great. The facilities aren't the cleanest (not dirty but not pristine) but it is right on the beach so sand is bound to get in. It felt much more like camping than some of the holiday parks which was more of the appeal to us. Showers included, you have to keep pushing the shower button but no fee so that's a plus. WiFi wasn't great but worked well around the kitchen/lounge area.

Great place to camp in self contained vehicle!
Turn off at The Store and take the left gravel road to head out to a number of private and more sheltered sites, road goes on for quite a while with a number of excellent beachfront spots with a lot of privacy. Beautiful sunrise in the morning! Gate was open when we went through but it does appear they are developing it into more of a campsite on their website, would be awesome if they got basic toilets but overall a fantastic secluded spot. Cafe/restaurant is great too, picked up some pastries and coffee on the way out and the lunch/full breakfast menu also looked great if you wanted to sit and enjoy the scenery a bit longer :-) bathroom at the store as well.

Small lots for campervan but they have done a nice touch with extra shubbery/trees to separate and give some privacy.
Clean facilities though only 2 shower stalls but included. They also had a spa pool included though we opted to use the hot springs which are just a couple minutes walk away. Close to restaurants in town as well. Good location overall if you want to be near town and attractions.

Great views and some cool spots tucked away for campervans and tents.
Toilet facilities, sink, and sheltered area to cook. Windy at night but that kept the bugs away, we had a ton in the morning as soon as we left a door open. Gets crowded at night but stays very quiet. Great sunset and sunrise views.

Sites are definitely larger than the other option in town.
Facilities are clean, kitchen nice and spacious, but showers are not included. A bit noisy in peak season but what can you expect. We had a corner lot for a campervan with plenty of room but everyone walked right through the site including right outside our door despite being parked in the middle which was a bit annoying. Overall would still choose this over the other option
Hi Heather, thank you for commenting... yes busy summers here, with lots of Kiwi families having their Christmas holidays. Sorry about the rudeness of some of our campers, a little respect would be nice indeed. Glad you did enjoy your time in Kaiteriteri.
