Great location, friendly staff, neat, tidy and clean facilities.
Current rate: 10$ p.p.
For 1$ you get a 2 min hot shower
Correct name of the site would be:
Pouto Point Marine Hall Campground
(btw: it‘s the only one there!)

There is only one campground at Pouto Point!
The name is correct, but it is located exactly where the Pouto Point Campground is shown on the map.

Rating speaks for itself!
Friendly, neat, tidy, clean, fair pricing,... A place to fall in love with at first sight.

Nice views from two lookouts and thats about it.
Long and steep walking on farmland, and not much to see in forest.
As we had very strong winds, it was quite creepy walking through forest along many fallen trees and expecting the next one to break :-(
Would not recommend it under these conditions

Beautiful location, neat and tidy, good facilities, friendly staff.
Well worth the price slightly higher than DOC basic.
No cell phone coverage, no WiFi, but lots of sandflies of course.
Funny signboards, cartoons and „artwork“ all over the place :-)

Nice picnic area (grass) sheltered by trees, near hanging bridge and river, which can be used for about 5 tents.
Large gravel parking for about 10 vehicles. Provides a not smelly flush toilet with paper and a water tap nearby.
Beware of the rooster! He „owns“ that place and may get agressive. In return the wake-up call early in the morning is for free :-)

No hut!
But a lovely campsite with a perfectly ventilated toilet.
Coldwater stream delivers really cold and crystal clear water.
Accessible by 4WD, MTB or hiking on the rainbow route (toll road!) from St. Arnaud to Hanmer Springs.

Not easy to find.
Access by a long gravel road from northwest of Forest Park only! Nice place near grey river. Not suitable for large vehicles and not ideal for tents as ground is a little muddy and partially plowed by 4WDs.
Toilet a little bit smelly, but clean and ok. Nice bushwalks and hikes around

Lovely place at riverside and pretty well equipped (toilets and BBQ).
Will soon get showers and a 2nd BBQ.
Easy and fast application for free permit via website

4.5/5
Lovely place with lots of space and a great view to the nearby mountains.
Clean toilets and washbasins, cold shower in the open.
According to locals, they never seen or applied for the required permit sticker. Couldn‘t get it anyway, as we arrived on Sunday and Council office was closed.
Only (minor) issue: whole campground was covered with cut grass, which then obviously ended up inside the tent :-)
