Well of the beaten track, stayed here on our way down to bluff.
Toilets not maintained at all, heaps of sand flies, not a big place to park up.

Great location to Dunedin and right on the beach so very popular, would recommend getting in early.
Non-self contained spots were all taken so we parked up in a self contained spot with no issues. Toilets are clean :)

Amazing spot to park up!
One of our favourites and a great location if going to Mount Cook the next day, fellow campers landed a massive salmon during the day in the canals so good for fishers as well. Was non-self-contained and got away with no issues so can't complain :)

Stayed here after we had completed the Abel Tasman Great Walk and on our way to the West Coast.
Perfect mid way spot to park up. Cheap, got some washing done, had a beer and a great burger. A lot of sandflys as expected in the gorge so be careful not to leave your doors open during the day.

Another awesome spot in NZ, cheap for its proximity to Wanaka.
Stayed here a couple of nights and managed a spot by the river which was great during the sunset.

An amazing campsite if you are lucky enough to be here on a fine early morning!!
Took probably the best photos of our trip as the lake was dark and glass and acted like an enormous mirror. 10/10 would stay again.

One of the best places we stayed at during our month around the south island!!
Awesome spot by the river and you can literally drive up and park right next to it. A bit scruffy however spoke to some locals and they told us there are plans to tidy it up with allocated funding
South Island ▷ Fiordland ▷ Te Anau ▷
4.5/5
A great place to camp as it is the closest camping spot to Milford Sound.
Weather can be very wet which is typical of the area but cooking shelters are provided. Heaps of sand flies so watch out :)

Stayed here a couple of separate nights.
Good location in town and right by a park with clean toilets however be mindful if the farmers market is on the next morning as you will be woken up by the locals asking you to move!
