Nice site in the middle of nowhere next to a little river.
Quite and not many people there. No amenities available. The best spots are at the end of the gravel road (a few hundred meters and then around the corner), in a grassy patch sheltered by trees next to the river.
No sandflies!

Basic campsite for the price you pay ($35 for powered site for 2).
Clean kitchen, good warm showers. Otherwise just a place to sleep at night.

"Lakeview" is only for a few spots near the edge, and then only some 100m away through the trees and a grassy field ;) otherwise a good campsite with nice amenities.
Washers (3nzd) and dryers (3nzd) available (dryer only half dried our clothes..), good warm unlimited showers. Paid $42 for powered site for 2 people.

Cute little campsite, with mostly longterm guests.
Run by an older couple who do their best to know everyones name and where they're from. Amenities are really well taken care of, clean and new. Kitchen is okay.
There's many bunnies and a pet duck.

Great spot, fantastic views and you can take some nice short walks around the place.
Can be windy, but there's some spots behind bushes that shelter you from it.

Loved this camping spot.
There were a few sandflies around, but not too many (and I hate them with a passion, so that I wasn't annoyed says something). Nice walks from the campsite to the lagoon and over the beach. Due to a storm last February the bridge to the seal colony is destroyed and closed still.
Sunset from the pebble beach is amazing. Two toilets and two sinks available. $8 pp a night.
Drive carefully on the gravel road!! It's up and down and bendy roads.

Wow, what a place to wake up in the morning!
Great views over the lake and the mountains behind it. Gets quite busy, so to have a good spot come relatively early.

Large kitchen, good amenities.
Right at the beach, so a prefect place for seal spotting (there is a little walk from the campground to a small pebble beach where we saw a seal and many birds). Apparently Hector's dolphins also make an appearance every now and then :)
Site was under some construction when we where there, so many trees had been cut and it was a bit barren.
All in all, good campsite for little money :)

Nice place.
Asphalt parking lot for about 10 vehicles, all with sea view. Large grass space in front to relax, and there is an outdoor bbq available. Couldn't find the toilets other reviews speak of though...
Lots of locals come by in their car to sit in the car and fiddle on their phones for some time (good reception there maybe?),

Fantastic views of the mountains.
Toilets are good. Kitchen area is large, there's no warm water to do dishes, so boil your own kettle.
The hooker valley track gets busy from late afternoon onwards, so get on your feet early to have the track to yourself!
