We were actually camping at the Glentanner holiday park in mount cook, and only visited this site to gaze at the stars and take a few night photographs of the sky.
The location is amazing with a great view of the lake pukaki and an amazing night sky. However, the camp site does get very busy (being free) and you may need to get here quite early if you want to catch a good spot. I believe there are some toilets here but no showers or any other kitchen/ dining area facilities.

Great campsite with powered site facilities and clean showers with hot water.
The campsite also has a well equipped kitchen, but it gets a bit busy during dinner time. There are also laundry facilities and a small play area for kids. Lovely medium sized campsite. We stayed here in a campervan but it has cabins too. We never had to wait in a queue to use the showers. Reasonable price of 38 dollars for two people in a camper van in the powered site.

We were quite skeptical about this campsite, having read so many mixed reviews and negative feedback about the toilet and shower facilities.
We were very much pleasantly surprised to find very clean showers and toilets with hot water at good water pressure. Even though the camp site was quite full, we never had to wait in a queue to use the showers and toilets at any time during our 2 day stay (even during peak times). The kitchen is clean and equipped with all the cooking utensils you may need but it may get a bit busy during dinner. If you wish to stay here for more than a day, you could request a sign from the reception to reserve your spot for you until you return to the campsite and we were able to do this and reserve our spot for both days even when we left the camp. We were surprised as to why we read so many negative reviews about the showers and the water pressure and there not being a process to reserve your spot since we didn’t encounter these issues. Maybe the management has taken these past reviews into consideration and has improved their standards. The only drawback we saw was the campsite not having a dumping station. And it cost us 27 dollars per person (powered site), which is quite pricy in comparison to many other camps. But given its location, it was a price we were willing to pay. Also, after our trip, we wanted a copy of our receipt for claim purposes and when we called the office they emailed us a copy very fast. Very prompt service in that regard. The location is ok and is home to many rabbits- which we loved, but this does inevitably make the site a little infested with bunny poo in certain areas ;)
