What a view to wake up to.
Great spot, ultimate free camping spot. NO facilities. Loved it

If you book a private pool & pay for it on line, take your credit card with you.
Even when I showed booking and payment confirmation on my phone, together with showing the payment coming out of my bank account AND showing them id, they still made us pay again in cash (lucky husband had $100 in his pocket) and said it will be 10 days for them to refund the first credit card payment. They said it’s to stop fraud...What a joke! Over kill
The pools themselves are quite nice, though was hard to enjoy knowing we just paid $200.

We loved this place.
Traveling in an extra large camper van, the sites are a decent size and private! With rainforest gardens in between each site you don’t feel looked in on my other campers. It is close to all restaurants and is very clean & well run

My husband & I have just finished a 12 day trip around the South Island in a 7m Bolero.
The luxury van had everything we needed. It has great powerful diesel motor needed for the mountains. The roll out awning was used nearly every day and so was the coffee plunger :) When we book again, it will be the slightly bigger 7.5m. Having a larger bed & more room in the en-suite. Richy was amazing in running through how everything worked at pick up, as we had never Motorhomed before. My tip is get the best van you can afford. It makes the trip so much more enjoyable, especially when u want to experience freedom camping on remote lakes. We went to a powered site every 2nd day to charge up, dump and fill.

One of my favourite freedom camping spots during our holiday.
Basic very clean toilet. Shady trees. Cheap $8 per person. Great for swimming. Not suitable for large camper vans as the track is very narrow tho we were in a 7 metre Bolero (cheeky) and it handled the dirt road well. Drive very slow going in and out as there is usually cattle on the road.
