Nice stop to break up our drive to Milford.
Nice campsite other than the many sandflies. Raining so couldn't use the fire pit provided. Far enough away from the road so very little traffic noise.

Larger section was closed but there were still about 8 campervans of various sizes parked with us in the smaller section when we woke up.
Make sure you have plenty of bug spray as there can be a lot of sand flies.

We have nothing but positive things to say about our experience with Sunrise Holidays.
This was our 3rd campervan holiday in NZ and Sunrise is by far the best company we have used.
Our van "Val" was excellent and had everything in it we needed for our trip. We did a mix of free camping and staying in holiday parks and the solar kept the battery charged nicely. The gas heater was really nicer to have on a couple of cold free camping nights.
Thanks to Sarah for her prompt communication so we always knew the status of our quote/booking. Also a big thanks to Nathan for fixing one minor issue and ensuring everything was perfect with the van; we really appreciated your efforts.
Highly recommend Sunrise Holidays; you wont be disappointed
Hi Andrew, I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay in 'Val' and in NZ! Those gas heaters are amazing for those chilly South Island nights! I hope you've made some great family memories on this trip to NZ :)
Make sure to let us know next time you're over!

The main benefit of this park is it proximity to the center of Queenstown.
Just a couple of minutes walk you are right in Shotover Street. All those uphill steps back are a bit tiring but its worth it. Facilities are nice and big to cope with all the campers. Big kitchen with plenty of table to eat meals at. Shower are fine and during our stay were free and had no time limit. Free 5Gb of WIFI was well received by all. Staff were friendly and very helpful when we needed to change our travel plans. Sites are all nice and flat and the park was clean and well maintained. Cant beat this place based just on its location. Thanks

Amazing location and surrounding scenery.
Sites feel very secluded and private which was a nice change. Kitchen was excellent and even had a supply of pots, pans, plates etc which could be used as well as what came with our camper. Very roomy showers which was also much appreciated. Nice area with couches to relax and chat with others. Thanks to the staff who rang our cruise company to confirm our cruise for the following day. No wifi which was a nice change. We enjoyed our brief stay.

Just a quick overnight stay after flying in just after midnight.
Key and map tapped to reception window was a different way to do after hours check in but it worked fine.
Room was simple which was fine but most importantly it was nice and clean.
Let us to check out a little late as we were waiting for our campervan to arrive which was much appreciated.
Good alternative that is really close to the airport.
Thanks

Chose Mitre Peak Cruises because they have a smaller boat and certainly was not dissapointed.
Less people meant it was easier to get around and get that perfect picture. Based on what the other larger boats were doing we went further out of the Sound and got much closer to waterfalls and wildlife. Commentary from the Captain was very entertaining and informative. If you are looking for a cruise company, pick these guys.

Stayed here twice on our recent trip.
The Holiday Park has certainly improved since our last visit 9 years ago and looks amazing. Lots of nice seats and tables to give you an opportunity to enjoy the view. Little bit pricey but with the view you get and the lack of other alternatives in town its understandable. Bathroom and Kitchen facilities were excellent. Only gripe about the showers was the shot of cold water that alerted you to the fact your time was almost up. Understand showers need to be timed and a warning is welcome to avoid a head of shampoo when the water runs out but the water was VERY cold. If you are in a campervan ask for site 29 or 30. Thanks and congrats on the improvements to the park.

Easy hike but there is no shade so if its sunny make sure you have a hat and sunscreen. Track was very well maintained. We had a fantastic stay and really liked the park and its relaxed and quiet atmosphere.
The staff were really friendly and keen to ensure we had a good stay. The facilities were excellent. Great kitchen and dinning area with plenty of space. They also had a fantastic outdoor covered BBQ area with tables that was very popular. Bathrooms were also very clean and well maintained - even some complimentary sachets of shampoo which was nice. Utilise the shuttle into town in the evening and get a taxi back for $12. A lovely park that definitely gave us a relaxing few days during our stay. Thanks
Hi Andrew, Great to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We no longer provide the complimentary shampoo, we were just using these up as we are trying to do our bit for the environment so we are using refill bottles instead.

A massive camp with easy access to the beach and some great places to explore with the kids at low tide.
Simple facilities that are token driven (a 60 cent token for a 5 min shower) but the big missing point was no BBQ.
The location is wonderful and the staff were very helpful but something as simple as a BBQ would make it a significantly better camp.
Thanks for your comments, glad you enjoyed your stay with us and our beautiful location. We have a BBQ in our future development plan as we can see this is an asset for the campers.

Our 6 berth camper was a 2004 model so a couple of cosmetic things were starting to break/fall off.
The water pump was not working when we picked the van up but the Christchurch team were very quick to get it fixed. The fridge door broke about 2/3 the way into the trip. Looks like it had broken from the same place before and been glued back but fridge was still able to be latched shut.
Overall a very friendly business to deal with and despite the age of the vehicle it did not miss a beat despite the 4200 km we travelled. Issues were more a distraction than the sort that would effect your holiday.
Good lower cost alternative to the "newer" models.
