We rented the Jucy Chaser campervan.
It was perfect for two people with the choice of upper and lower bunks to sleep on. They both fit two people although the top bunk was slightly narrower. Having a toilet, two burner stove, and a fridge was very handy. We used everything to great effect. The Jucy staff were very helpful and friendly. The campervan was received very clean and with the necessary cooking and eating utensils as well as all the bedding. Very warm comforters. The window shades were terrific for keeping light out. The size of the van was perfect for parking and maneuvering in the tight spots we went to. It does struggle on the steep hills, but most trucks will. Only down side is that it is not a diesel engine.
Hey Pat,
It sounds like our Chaser campervan was the perfect travel companion for your JUCY adventure!
Thanks for your review!
Cheers

Excellent campsite!
We loved the view of the river and hills. Lots of space at each site. Level gravel sites with lots of green grass, and water available. Don was very nice and gave us vegetables and peaches and let us plug in some devices. We planned to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 3 since it was so nice.

Great location close to the trails, so good for late or early hiking days.
Camper van sites have a reasonable selection of shaded or sunny. Toilets only okay. Little stream for swimming.

Paved parking lot next to dam.
6 or 7 campers the night we were there. A bit unlevel but not too bad. Terrific spot to walk the trail down river of dam to watch the water rise as the dam opens. Go to first viewpoint about 5 min down the trail. Toilet does get locked at night though!

Terrific campground next to the lake.
Good laundry and kitchen facilities. Bathrooms were excellent. Walked the short walk to the bird sanctuary which was nice. Town was about 2 km away so drove there. Loved the quaint town of Te Anau.

Enjoyed the good clean showers. Kitchen facilities and bbq’s were good. Sites were a bit small but not bad, nice and level. Great walk to the path through glow worms at night, and close to everything in the village.

Beautiful views if you walk out to the point and beaches.
Site was very busy and crowded but the views make up for it. Toilets just okay. Arrive early as it was difficult past 6:00 pm to get a spot.

Great stop on way to Milford Sound. Only 1 hour drive away. Lots of space. Lovely river surrounded by mountain views. We camped in the trees for shade but river flats had best views. Drop toilets only okay

We did the full day Marine Reserve kayak trip which was excellent.
They take you out on a motorboat then you kayak back. At the island we saw seals and a blue penguin and lots of birds. We paddled into various lagoons and waterways on the way back. Lunch on the beach was nice with plenty of time to relax and swim. A bit tired by the end but not too bad as 2 person kayak and fairly leisurely pace of paddling.

Excellent campground.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful facilities with good kitchen, clean showers and bathrooms. Loved the plumbing art all around the site. Sites a bit small but to be expected for city campground. We were able to walk everywhere in town from here so saved the parking hassle.
