Lovely place with a view of the bay and of some interesting rock formations.
Handy place to stay when doing any of the hikes in the area. There is a long drop toilet a little walk up the driveway. Access to the waikaremoana is via a long gravel road from either rotorua or napier direction.

The place is quite small and the people there are very friendly.
The kitchen was well equipped and the facilities were clean. The owners were very helpful when my van had a flat battery. The only downside is that it is right beside the SH, which makes it quite noisy.

Great place to stay before going hiking.
Car park is pretty big and wasnt too full in Nov. You can leave your car here when you go hiking. Clean toilets open all night. If you are lucky you get a view of mt taranaki too :)

The freedom camping area is a big area in the forest. Toilets are close by.

Great small campsite in very remote area beside a stream.
Good place to stay to break up the journey to te urewera. It is possible to do a night walk and listen to the kiwis from there. Lovely Hike to do in whirinaki conservation area.

Nice place to stay right on the shores of Lake taupo with a view of tongariro.
Got pretty full in Nov, so get there early. There is one long drop toilet, which can be pretty far away depending on where you park. Don't forget to make the most of a free hot bath in the spa park in Taupo.

Really nice place to stay.
If you get there early you may be lucky to find a spot with a little privacy between the trees. Clean toilets and drinking water very close by. Close to napier and cape kidnappers.

Just two spaces allocated spaces in a car park near the cemetary.
Nothing special, but handy stopover for hot water beach and cathedral cove. Toilets down the road by ferry landing.

12$ pp per night is a bit steep considering that it is really only a parking lot that is locked at night.
Toilets are clean, hot shower is an extra $2. Landscaping work going on while I was there, so coast was fenced off with orange fencing. Not so pretty.
