This is a great place to stay and is free, there is just one toilet.
It's really well located just beside the road and I was really lucky I've got some snow at the end of August. Recommended if you are out of budget or looking for a place just to relax one night

I really liked all about this campsite, I spent two nights here.
Facilities are great, big and clean kitchen, showers included in the price, and laundry. Really well located with cool views of the surroundings. Recommended!!

I enjoyed a lot my camping night in this park, there are just basic facilities but the fee is just $10.
Just beside a river and good tracks to walk around.

Lake Poaka Campsite

I had amazing camping days around Lake Poaka, morning views were such a reward after frosty nights.
There is just a toilet, but you dont need anything else when you have such a beautiful snowy mountains view.

After two amazing weeks driving around the south island I found this campsite in Ashburton to had a good night before my trip back home.
Absolutely recommended! Amazing host she is such a nice person and I loved the friendly chat I had with her. Just one thing, I think the address pointed in the app is not really accurate because it sends you to other place, driving from the south is like 300mts after the spot pointed in the map.
