We had a fabulous time travelling around New Zealand in our motorhome.
We had a 4-berth Britz explorer van for 3 people and had a great amount of space without feeling too cramped. The van itself was great as it was certified self-contained so we were not restricted too much about where to stay the night, although we did mostly use paid campsites anyway! We did have several issues with the van but thankfully could continue with the trip without too much hassle. For example, the hot water only worked for us twice in two weeks; the grey waste pipe was not connected to the tank so we had to wait 2 days to see a mechanic; the fridge seal was falling off; we were reluctant to freedom camp for longer than 1 night as the battery seemed to drain quite quickly from the fridge and lights.
Booking the campervan through Rankers was hassle-free and the communications from both rankers and britz prior to our arrival was excellent. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for our experience collecting the van at the Britz Auckland branch. The guy attending to us was, to be frank, useless. No licence checks were carried out for us; we were rushed out as if we were a bad smell; he told us the wifi was not worth bothering with, despite us having paid extra for the all-inclusive pack; he did not show us our van at all and instead said "I won't bother wasting your time now, you can watch the videos if you have any issues" - definitely not lawful, nor the service we had paid for!!! Luckily we had 2 friends in Auckland who were familiar with campervans so they could show us everything that Britz should have done.
The check out process at Britz was thankfully much better and Franco, who dealt with our checkout, was very friendly and attentive.
Overall, an enjoyable experience in our motorhome so it's a shame the service was so terrible.

Loved everything about our trip and the company!
Made a last minute booking the day before for a group of 5 and the whole team were very accommodating. Johnny and Kelly, our guides on the river, were very friendly and very knowledgeable. The hot chocolate and chocolate fish half way down the river were a very welcomed addition, as was the hot pools and soup at the end! We did grade 3 which was the perfect combination of teamwork to get down the rapids, but also some free-time to look at the fabulous surroundings. Stopping to jump off a small cliff was also very exciting.
Would 100% recommend. It will be a highlight of your trip!
