Nice location just before heading through to the Westland.
It's has toilet and a sink area if you need. Couple of parking site which you can choose for the night. However, there is no cell phone signal in this area when I was there.

Great place to stop for the night before heading over to akaroa the next day.
Was over at this site with 2 other camper and there are still plenty of space. No facilities at the site. Just the view.

Great place for the night.
Did not know that Tekapo doesn't allow freedom camping. Was looking around for place to stay for hours will we found this place. By the time we got there, the reception has already close. However they have boxes out at the reception for late check in. Just grab the envelope to a slot and start the power going for the night. A saving grace for a cold night.

Awesome place to stay.
Have a initial night here before planning to go either to glenorcy region or Milford sound. Then stayed another 3 nights after. Its that good. The staff were really helpful, managed to book my snow boarding just with them over the counter. Couple of things to note, check out is 10am but gantry will only reset at 11am. So there is no need to rush over in the morning to get out, which is really helpful on our last morning. The toilet and kitchen is the best that I have visited so far.

The site have two entrance.
One goes directly towards the toilet area which is on a lower ground. The other goes up to a hill, which I will recommend to stay the night. As this area seems to be still within the dark sky area of Tekapo as well. The stars during a clear night is awesome. It can be really cold and any puddle of water can actually freeze up.

It's a pretty cool place with lots of nature surrounding you.
Check in was a breeze and a night for 2 in a medium camper cost around $41. The kitchen uses a littered burner, microwave and fridge, it doesn't have a hot water dispenser nor an oven which would be nice. Toilet is a little smaller with only 2 showers and 2 toilet next to the kitchen. Parking is kina tight, where each slot is for 2 camper side by side. Overall is a nice place for the night and would surely come back again
