This place is more of a day trip destination as the walks/swimming area is good but the place itself is not.
all it is is a rocky uneven car park that is very, very crowded, you can tent on the grassy area but can’t bring your vehicle which makes for a long walk when moving things. as soon as we arrived and saw this we left, not a welcoming environment and for the price definitely not worth it!

A must stay!
flush toilet is clean and well stocked, beautiful location, right on the beach, perfect for a surf, swim, or sunbathing. Not too crowded and a five minute drive from the city, locals came to surf and were very friendly, definitely coming back!

Toilets are flush but not the cleanest, massive place, good for privacy, however very open so not much shelter when it’s windy & it gets VERY windy.
good walks near by, ranger is very friendly, overall good place

cute place by a stream, only two other cars were there, lots of privacy, gets a little chilly at night & the toilet was what you’d expect, needs a clean

Definitely one of our favourite places we stayed!
Lovely scenery, right on the water, watch the sunset over the south island mountains, breathtaking! Five minute drive to seal colony and there is a TON of them, delicious fish and chip food cart, lady gave us free food as we were the last customer of the night, drop toilet clean, very relaxing stay.

One of our favourite places we stayed!
Staff was so friendly! Very affordable, clean toilets, great shower $1 for 5min (lady said couples/families can go in as a group to save money lol) we were the youngest campers there aside from some small children, definitely not a party scene, everyone was friendly and welcoming, lots of water taps/sinks and a place to do laundry, on top of all that great beach & amazing fish and chip place (aunty and uncles) only a 7 minute walk away, definitely coming back!!

wouldn’t stay here again, toilets are very cramped, dark and have holes in the building, scared a mouse or rat was going to get in but they do flush and are well stocked.
Tons of sandflies and not much shelter when it got windy, only plus is the lovely beach.

Very friendly staff, great showers, clean toilets, well equipped kitchen, beautiful scenery, not too crowded and with a lovely short walk to a waterfall.
Only downside is it’s a bit expensive but when you’re that close to milford sound it’s to be expected. Lovely place!

COME EARLY!
Place fills up quarter after four, great if you’re taking the ferry the next day, Picton is 5 minute drive. Clean flush toilets, picnic tables, right by the road but didn’t bother us at all

This was one of my favourite places to stay in all of New Zealand, parking is 5 metres from a beautiful beach, great location (10 min from Dunedin), clean bathrooms, grassy area for picnic.
Only thing is it gets pretty crowded at night, but was quiet for the amount of people. A MUST STAY!
