A great location!
Fantastic view, quiet, plenty spaces and toilets that are open overnight. Only issue we had was a man in a car playing loud music for hours and who complained I was distributing him by walking to the bathroom. He eventually moved on at around 11pm. It was very strange situation and would put us off returning to another wise beautiful spot.

Plenty of space and a beautiful view!
Toilets are open 24/7 and there are lots of rubbish bins. Winery close by but wasn't open when we were there.

Amazing camping spot with a fantastic view!
Only 2 other campervans there when we stayed. Long drops weren't the best I've seen but at least there is a toilet. So glad we camped here as it was one of the most peaceful places we stayed.

Lots of spaces and toilets that are open 24/7.
On top of that the view is pretty amazing. There is also a dump and fresh water point. A perfect spot!

A brilliant place to freedom camping!
We stayed 2 nights and has a spot with a uninterrupted view of the lake both nights. Long drop toilet was very clean and not at all smelly. Security did the rounds at about 9pm each night so don't risk it if you are not self contained.

Good freedom camping spot close the center of town.
Easy to walk to shops and thermal areas. Toilets a 2 minute walk away but close overnight. We made the mistake of parking on the side with the fountain, presuming it would be turned off overnight. It is not!

There are three spaces so get here early!
We arrived at around 3pm and someone tried to pull into our spot while we were straightening up. Public toilets are very close but close overnight. There is a cold shower in both the bathrooms. Only a short walk into town and a there are a couple of takeaway places close by if you want a break from cooking.

Great campsite close to Auckland.
It is a big area so even when we arrived at 7pm there was still a few spots by the edge of the beach with an uninterrupted view. Only downside is the lack of toilet but worth it for the view!
