We loved our time at Kai Iwi Lakes- spectacular views and the lake was amazing to swim in.
Would definitely recommend adding this to your itinerary! Make sure you bring insect repellent though!!

We loved it here- the hosts were incredibly friendly and the facilities were amazing, yes you pay $2 for a shower but they are the nicest showers I’ve ever had!
The host even encouraged me and my husband to share a shower as the cubicles have heaps of room. We never had to wait for either a toilet or a shower.
Thank you - we are pleased you enjoyed your stay; we appreciate your nice comments

We loved our time at Hihi- great views from the campsite and all the staff we met were friendly.
The facilities were nice and looked like they had been updated- new kettles etc. Nice that they supplied tea towels too!

This was our favourite campsite - we were planning to only stay one night but ended up here for three!
As others have said it’s basic but the views and peacefulness are unbeatable. There are also amazing trails to explore that go through the camp for those that enjoy hiking or trail running.

The walk from Tapotupotu to the lighthouse was one of our favourite far north activities - views were amazing and worth the climbs.

We had no problems with this campsite- facilities were clean and the camp manager (who was in her first week of the job) was lovely.
It doesn’t have the pretty beaches or views of other campsites, but worked in perfectly with our itinerary as a stopover before exploring the far north.

My family comes here every year and we love it.
We seem to always get spectacular weather and the beach is lovely to swim in. Facilities are basic but always clean and well maintained.
