One of the great experiences in non powered campervan sites.
We stayed on a grassy terrace right beside the river, site well maintained and groomed. River noise overnight was terrific - it rained heavily during the night, and the river doubled in volume! The walks are wonderful, part of the circle track is a part of Te Araroa, the walking trail that goes the length of the country (their website, teararoa.co.nz, offers downloadable maps and Trail guides, well worth the download)

A good and quiet lakeside site.
Not busy, only 1 other campa there, on a day when there were 30 tents and campervans visible across the lake at Bennett’s Road. No facilities so must be self contained.

Very quiet, about a km down a gravel road from the highway.
Nicely sited beside a lovely little river.

Spectacular beach, clean toilet, but the official space allowed for camper vans is small, the night we stayed there ended up being 23 vans, close to touching!

Mediocre campervan site, spaces were cheek to jowl with no privacy screens/hedges/trees between.
Generally not as good quality as most Top 10s. Appeared a bit run down .
