We loved this spot.
Arrived in the dark but managed to find plenty of options on flat land. Woke up to stunning views of the lake and wetlands. We didn't check out the toilets but drove around to see we had an option of parking near these as well as a covered area with a large table. We will return here and look forward to experiencing it in the summer months for some boating.

Kiriwhakapapa Campsite

We didn't stay overnight but we parked up here to walk up to Blue Range Hut.
We loved the spot and will be back to stay another time. We can imagine it's idyllic in summer with the stream, the bush and the walk options. Nice sheltered table and the toilets were clean. A narrow gravel road to get there but this was in good repair.

Putangirua Pinnacles Campsite

Wow! What a site.
A perfect place for overnight. We arrived just before sunset and watched this on the beach and then found lovely spot for the campervan. Loved the stars as we walked to the clean toilets. Walked up the river stream to the pinnacles and returned via the lookout and then walked the ridge to complete the loop back to the camping area. Simply stunning. No drinking water but plenty of spots for a fire if you wanted one.
