Didn’t know was for “experienced” trampers otherwise may have not gone, but glad we gave it a go. Long drop and Kauri dieback station at start then 300+ well maintained steps down to a swing bridge where you can choose to go a traditional track or along a stream. We chose the stream following the markers in the hopes of a swimming spot and found one not far along - was about an hour from start to get there with dawdling kids then chose to head back. I believe further along to be a bit more challenging and be prepared to get wet up to waist as saw trampers coming back wet. Shoes or sandals required, although my son did in jandals but slippery in places.
