Renting a Maui Campervan for the weekend was a great experience.
I arrived early to get the best time for customer service at the Auckland branch, and all aspects of the contract were explained clearly and easy to understand. We rushed through the process to get going quicker, and this was ok as a DVD show through was provided in the van.
We were given a Mercedes 6 berth with only 14,000kms on it and in new condition. It was wonderfull to drive with more than enough power to get up the hills, and I felt that the van was superior to most other transport on the road. All linen, crockery and utensils were provided in the van, so all we had to do was buy DVDs, food and pack our clothing. The only difficult part was negotiating round abouts, however I drove slowly and focused more on the driving experience.
Returning the van was easy, with a simple check in, and pleasant customer service. Even though the van mirror was damaged at the Camp ground, I was covered by the insurance and I did not need to pay extra.
I would recommend Maui Campervans, and we are planning our next trip soon.
Update
I now have rented 4 Maui vans and the Ultimate Plus is the best. The iPhone integration and tomtom Gps were great. The layout is good for extra room, and the van was well equiped. The updated Mercedes van is economical and quiet at 9.5L/100kms and easy to drive. Would recommend to all people wanting to do a road trip. But to the doubters, I would say that you should check everything first before leaving the branch. If anything does go wrong then you should call the on road assist and they will help. Plus the branch staff in Christchurch were lovely.
I could say more and will for my next trip.
Hi Carl Larsen
Thank you for your positive review. It was wonderful to read that you found both the service at our Auckland branch and the Maui motorhome you received to enhance your holiday experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

My goodness.
There was really great customer service here. The family(?) at reception were so nice that it was a great start to my short time in Omarama. They gave me a good site at the back. They provided DVDs for entertainment. They gave me a pointer to an excellent restaurant in a winery across the road.
The camp site is big and the facilities were good. I felt relaxed while I stayed here. The town is a good half way point between Wanaka and Christchurch. It is not a big drive to go from here to Mt Cook and I would recommend doing that also. I had no previous plan to stay here but it would have been 5.5 hours from Wanaka to Christchurch and in less than great weather that was not an option I wanted.
Very happy I stayed here
Wow! Thanks for the wonderful review. We are so glad you had a wonderful stay and enjoyed Omarama.

I enjoyed my stay here.
There was friendly customer service including a recommendation to an awesome restaurant. The grounds are flat and not on a main road, which is good. The facilities were well presented and close to the sites. My only note would be to reverse the van into the powered sites to make it easy in getting out in the morning.
Recommended and would stay here again if visiting invercargill.

I was told to go here so I did.
It was a fun stop after a nice drive to Wanaka from Queenstown on a nice day. I was travelling solo so my photos were not great but there are many opportunities for selfies here. The large puzzles were mind blowing, such as the spiral with the ball, and I spent over an hour walking around enjoying the sights. It is a good place for the family and I would recommend it to other people.
A fun stop.

Awesome customer service.
They went above and beyond helping me get a great experience out of Queenstown. Would definitely go back there.
I have stayed at many top 10 holiday parks around New Zealand and this is one of the best. The grounds are flat for van parking and it is a short walk to the communal facilities that are well presented. There is a fire place is the lounge. There is a daily shuttle to the Queenstown main centre. There is also a touch screen display showing many attractions in the area, that is opposite the largest catalogue stand of any top 10. Awesome reception staff.
Enjoy.
Thank you for your lovely review Carl, it's wonderful to hear you enjoyed your stay and that you found us to be one of the best TOP 10 parks you have stayed in. We hope you do come back one day.

Bringing back the memories.
I initially thought about driving past this place. Wanaka town centre is boring with little to do. So I left the area early which gave me time to visit the outside attractions. Very happy that I stopped here.
It starts by going into a well priced toy and gift shop. The friendly guy then shows me how to navigate the place. Then I am let free to explore the toy museum that houses collections of toys from when I was younger and brings back found memories of my childhood. After this I explored barns and yards full of old and collectable cars, trucks, fire engines, tractors, etc etc etc. Allow plenty of time to visit especially if you are older and want to talk cars. You will not be disappointed.
Do not drive past this place. Stop in and enjoy.

This was unexpected fun.
I found Wanaka town centre to be boring so I left early. On the way out I got a recommendation to go here. So glad I did. I had not done archery or fired a gun in years. It was awesome. The instructions were good from a guy who was willing to help and had great customer service. It was a good focus exercise and helped me reduce stress. Nothing else in the world matters when you focus a gun on a target.
Highly recommended to the young and old travelers and it is not the kind of activity that is available in most other parts of New Zealand. Make the most of your time in the area and visit here.
Now telling everyone I am good with a 22 rifle.

This was another great Waitomo cave tour.
We did this cave tour after the Ruakiri cave, and did not enjoy this one as much, just because of the larger group size. The formations in the cave are impressive, as is the cathedral, but the stand out experience is the boat ride at the end of the tour. It is almost believable that the caves have hardly changed since they were first discovered when floating along a pitch black cave with the only light being emitted from the cave worms.
Arohoa the tour guide was one of the best, as she is a decendant from the original cave explorer, and had spent many years caring for the cave with her informative tours.
Yes I would recommend this experience, but I would do it as the first of the Triple Cave Experience on offer. Do it.

This was a great experience.
I had never been in caves before this one, so I had no idea what to expect. I was amased by the professional quality of the tour guide, the entrance spiral to the cave, and the length of the tour. I understand that there may be not as much to see compared with other world attractions, but I would not let other opinions reduce the experience for myself.
The entrance spiral to the cave reminded me of the opening to The Muppet Show, with an enjoyable play of lighting effects. The whole tour through the caves is well lit, so we could all see the natural rock formations, and at length due to the unrushed nature of the tour. The group size was small and there was always opportunities to ask questions.
I have recommended this experience to other people, and I would return to enjoy it again.

Staying at this holiday park was a great experience.
The Online booking was so easy, with excelent customer service and replies when I had to make changes to the booking.
The location is great, with a short walk down the road to the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, and other facilities. The view is pleasant, with padocks of Steers in front of rolling hills bathed in fog on the cold morning we enjoyed while staying there.
The facilities were spotless clean, with more than we expected, if we needed extra DVDs or snacks. It was an enjoyable opportunity to use the kitchen facilities for a warm breakfast on a cold morning, and meet other Campervan users.
I would recommend this park, and I would like to return there someday.
