We were here in the off-season so it was very quiet, like a ghost town.
We arrived at 7pm and the office was already closed but we had instructions to find a spot. The kitchen was huge and freezing cold. The bathrooms were cold too and the hot water was not working. In the morning the staff tried to remedy the situation and reimbursed our shower money. Definitley not my favorite holiday park.
Hi Martha, thankyou for your feedback, this winter has been a bit quiet, its given us a good chance to update the blocks, we have build ceiling in the blocks & kitchen which has made them alot warmer & looking into heaters for the bathrooms. We are new owners & working hard to upgrade the park.

A great place to stay if you are doing the Alpine Crossing - there is a shuttle directly from the campsite entrance.
Big kitchen, spacious bathroom includes a tub! The chateau across the street has good food of you don't like to cook. Very quiet, crisp mountain air.

Older van with older van problems.
We got exactly what we reserved but after a week we noticed that the ceiling of the van was full of mold. Also the engine light went on and off a few times throughout the road trip. Frustration mounted at the return of the vehicle - the Christchurch office told us "at 3pm", when in fact it was 2:30 to not miss the airport shuttle. They are very strict about their policy and we had to take a taxi.
Hi Martha,
Thank you for your review and we are sorry about your experience. The van has been taken through a vigorous winter check and is back up and running top notch.
Our shuttle time runs on a schedule as we have other customers drop off and collect at the airport which is prearranged. These times are outlined at the collection of the vehicle so we can ensure you are here for your transfer. Sorry it was not interrupted this way.
We do hope you enjoyed your trip of New Zealand.
Regards
Budgy Campers
