Super cute campsite on a rocky beach.
Composting toilets, drinking water and sinks for dishes. No showers. Sites aren’t marked so first in, best dressed (or parked). No kidding about the vibe of this place, it’s really great!! Plus doggies are allowed too!!!

There is some misinformation on this app but on 24th Jan 2019 it cost us $8pp in the honesty box and the gates were open when we arrived after 11pm.
Gravelled carparks, fields for tents and decent toilets in a beautiful bush setting. A great option for camping not far from Wellington City. Will stay again!

We stayed around New Years, lots of family’s, sandflies and little shade on the big field.
But the short walk to the river is lovely. No showers but the toilets are kept nice.

Beautiful lush campground with lots of grass and trees.
There’s an upper Park for views and the lower park for ocean proximity. There are lots of toilet blocks around. Cold outdoor showers only. Lovely vibe.

Classic campground, quiet when we were there.
Older facilities but free hot showers. Friendly office staff too. Very close to Russell, 5min drive. Can hear kiwis on a clear night if you’re nearer the back of the campground.

A wonderful green, casual campsite in an interestingly historical part of the countryside.
Kitchen, warm showers and flush loos. Highly recommended!

A darling campsite right on the beach.
Perfect for watching the sunset. Very retro amenities, but clean and tidy.

Everything you need!
Friendly proprietor and much cheaper than anything else in town and just as nice. $1 hot showers, free spade to borrow for the springs. Highly recommended.

Expensive for what you get.
$40 for 2 adults non-powered. Very dated amenities. Paid hot showers. Too bad this campground pretty much has a monopoly on Thames.
We are one of the cheapest on the Coromandel:) All though our amenties are dated they are bright and clean. WE bought the Holiday Park in 2016 and are constantly upgrading, and renovating it

Lovely reserve not far from Blenheim.
We came in at 6.30pm and snagged the last park. The reviews aren’t kidding about the toilets, pretty terrible walk on a rainy night but they are well maintained.

A lovely family park, great amenities and spacious sites.
Lovely camp hosts and a quick 4 minute drive to Picton.

Loved the beachside setting and the chilled out vibe!
The baches are really bachy and the amenities are rustic too, but they’re clean and there’s no charge for hot showers. My favourite South Island campground to date!!!

Small sites and lots of rules took the shine of the lovely forest setting.
Note: Bathrooms close at 10am for several hours. Pay $2 for 6minutes of shower.
Bathroom/laundry/Kitchen in A Block closes for cleaning at 10am until 12.00 for cleaning, there other two blocks close in the afternoon for cleaning. Sorry the camp was not to your liking but the signs around the camp are for the smooth running of the camp. Our sites are all standard size.

A long dirt road followed by a steep windy decline down to the farm was quickly forgotten after seeing the incredible scenery of the campground!
(Or should I say sheep paddock) Cold showers aren’t so bad when you can warm up at such a beautiful beach!!

The bugs, argh the bugs!
I’m sure it’s just the time of year and/or this part of the country but dive bombing bumble bees and sandflies do get frustrating. However they do have a meshed-in porch off the kitchen for bug free dining. Bugs aside, the facilities are wonderful, as are the hosts. Lots of room to pitch your tent and level private sections for campervans.
