Went with my 2 grandkids (11 and 15).

Excellent choice. Enough rapids to have a lot of fun and a bit of a thrill but not too scary. Better than a more sedate trip on the Whanganui River if you only want a half day experience. Sarah was an excellent guide - reassuring for the nervous, challenging them to do push themselves as they got the hang of it. Lots of fun and in my opinion better than a rafting trip because you are only 2 to a kayak so it's a more immediate experience. Highly recommend this trip and operator.
