This is a really great spot and totally secluded.
There is no phone reception and it really is an adventurous ride down that road. Would not recommend to drive down or up after/during rainfall as it does get really muddy and slippery but apart from that, it’s fine to drive. The spot is right by the river mouth and it is easy to access a stunning wild and rough beach. There are two rather new dump toilets and fresh water access. The night is absolutely dark down there, so definitely bring headlight or lamp/torch. If Glen is around, say ‘hi’ to him. He’s a legend.

It’s a great spot right by the beach.
There is a public toilet but no access to fresh water, which is fine if you’re self contained. We really liked to proximity to Gisborne even though you should arrive before six to get a spot there. Can definitely recommend it!

This is a nice spot right by a little stream.
It wasn’t busy when we got there but there is only a small number of spots available, so it might be busy in Dec and Jan. The short walk to the public toilets is fine and it’s great to freshen up there. Coromandel Town is a cute place and they have amazing coffee at the cafe on the right side of the supermarket.

It is an amazingly beautiful spot with lots of space.
There are two dump toilets which are fine and quite new but nowhere to wash your hands except for the lake. There are lots of flies around there which is a bit annoying. Apart from that it is absolutely beautiful and has amazing views on the lake and at the mountains.

It‘s a nice spot with lublic bathrooms in walking distance.
It gets pretty busy as it is the nicest spot in the area, close to the harbour. Make sure you get there early (before 5 pm) to get a spot. The centre with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants are within walking distance (10-15 min).

Fantastic holiday park with excellent facilities.
Everything is super clean, the showers are included and are not timed. The kitchen has enough room for everyone and there is even a super nice outside bbq you can use. There is a nice beach just opposite the little road and it is an amazing spot to watch sunsets (yes, even on the east coast) as it is facing west. Can really only recommend this place!

This spot is awesome!
There are pubilc toilets and even a beach shower and benches. It is an amazing beach for long walks or a swim and offers a stunning sunrise in good weather. We absolutely loved the spot and can really only recommend it. Would arrive before 5 pm as it does get really busy and there is only a limited number of spaces where you’re allowed to park.

Rather uneven ground (though concrete).
Public toilets are there and accessible but can not really recommend this as a nice spot unfortunately.

It‘s nothing special, but definitely a good spot if you are staying in the area.
Lots of room for large and small vehicles. There are no toilets around.

It is my favourite spot so far.
Absolutely beautiful and with great accessibility and decent public toilets and fresh water supply. There is plenty of room and it is right by the ocean, so you fall asleep to the sound of the waves. There is also a great winery just next to it, called Elephant Hill. Can really only recommend this place!

It is a beautiful spot right within nature.
There is plenty of room for vans, tents and larger motorhomes. Only negative is the little dump toilet. It really should be renewed and is just nasty.
Apart from that it is a great spot and a good starting point for some walks and hikes as well

Incredible spot with amazing views over Auckland and the bay.
It is a perfect spot to stay close to Auckland with clean bathrooms and even a dump station.
Can only recommend it. Make sure you arrive early (before 4 pm) if you want to get a spot on the ocean side. It does get really busy especially on the weekends.

It is an absolutely amazing spot right on top of the cliffs.
It wasn’t too busy mid March and we saw a beautiful sunset. There are no toilets or water around but it absolutely great for self contained vans. Can really only recommend!

It is a stunning spot with a great view of the south island.
It seems to be very popular and can be difficult to park at. It was basically full when we got there at 4 pm. Apart from that it is great and even has accessibility to drinking water and two public toilets.

There are two spots on the corner of the Waterfalls car park.
The spots are not on an even surface which is really annoying for cooking and sleeping. There are clean toilets right there but if you are looking for a scenic spot, this probably isn‘t the right one.
