Lovely spot and close to airport for first and last night of a trip.
The only reason I did not mark 10 is that it’s so difficult to book we gave up after 30 mins on the phone when the ranger told us to stay but outside the camp ground.
For some mad reason you cannot book online

I can't fault this company.
From the initial enquiry made from the UK they replied by return and even called me to discuss my requirements.
On arrival the hand over was good the van almost new and fully equipped. I also appreciated the fact that they answered any question i asked on route and kept us updated on the weather when a storm came through.
Not the cheapest company but worth the extra. During our month travelling i visited other vans while meeting people and none matched up to the quality of ours.

This was the cleanest site we visited on our 5 week trip the place is lovely in a beautiful setting.
It is a bit remote but that makes the place special.
We had a mix up on our dates and the office were friendly and accommodating I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Small and crowded basically one big car park , however, in a small town i guess it's to be expected.
For the volume of visitors they need more showers and toilets.
Having said this it suited us to stop on route down the west coast and see the Glacier so fine for one night.

Popular with locals so busy we were there Saturday night and it was a bit noisy at night.
Lovely warden told us it would claim down after the weekend and it did we stayed two days went swimming in the lake (yes it was cold) and walked through the wooded trail. It's what the DOC sites are all about.
Toilets very clean.

If you like being remote and waking up to a wilderness then this is it.
Long drive down an unmade up road but in arrival i loved it.
Toilets basic but clean. We had a clear night and the stars were amazing

Large nice site.
Pre- arrival communication was very good we requested a lake view and asked them to book a Doubtfull sound tour all done in a professional manner .
We left our previous site very early so arrived at 10.00 they allowed us on site no issues.
Toilets and facilities very modern and clean, the best we saw in NZ. Good Coffee from the coffee shop !!!
