This was our favourite camp site on the North Island!
My husband and I stayed here the 1st night due to location and then the 2nd night because we liked the area so much and didn’t want to leave this camp! It is in a beautiful location and only a short walk via trail or road to Hot Water Beach. Powered camper van sites here are large and clean and come with a nice picnic table. The community kitchen is quite large and was always clean. The bathrooms were clean and there was never a line for toilets or showers. The hot showers are free but limited to 5 minutes. This is enough time, you just have to move fast! It is in line with the camp’s ideals for conservation of resources and green living. 😊 There many are recycling bins throughout the site. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is a small store on site with groceries and snacks. We didn’t buy food there, but we did purchase some local craft beers available there! There is playground equipment for kids (or adults, haha! We tried the bounce pillow and the swings and had great fun!) You must try Fish n Chips for dinner while you are here. The fish and chips were amazing and reasonably priced. Only drawback is that the WiFi is unreliable, as others have mentioned. It works, but kicks you off frequently. Not a big deal, really. We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!
Hi Kimberley,
Thanks so much for your awesome review and appreciation of our efforts to maintain a sustainable environment for our guests and community. Yes the wifi can be difficult and we as a company appreciate this. However we are remote, located in a dip and surrounded by trees, but are working on regional council to consider us when installing more technology to the area.
Kind Regards

This is a great place to stay while visiting Rotorua!
It is convenient to town, but without the distinctive Rotorua “fragrance!” 😜 My husband and I stayed here 2 nights last week. First night we picked it due to location and the 2nd night because we liked it so much! The heated pool and jacuzzi hot tub are awesome! Our powered site was clean and quiet. Plenty big enough for our Jucy camper van and included a picnic table. The community kitchen is large and clean with multiple cooktops and ovens and a handy selection of pots/pans, utensils available to borrow. There is a comfy community eating and TV area. WiFi is free. I don’t remember if the amount is limited, but whatever it was, it suited our needs for 2 adults. The staff is friendly. There is a selection of DVDs to rent for only $2. We borrowed Lord of the Rings and watched the night before visiting the Hobbiton movie set tour which was fun! We don’t have kids, but this campground also has a playground and dinosaur statues for that would be fun for kids! Highly recommend this place!

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night last week in our Jucy camper van.
Our site was near the bathroom and kitchen facilities and we did not have a problem with noise. This campground is in airport flight path, but it is a small regional airport and we did not have a problem with airplane noise overnight. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean. Womens bathroom has a hairdryer which was nice, although I did not need to use it. We did not use the shower facilities. Overall, a nice clean campground. No frills, but no extras needed as we had other activities planned for our time in Hawk’s Bay.
