We came in at pouring rain and the owner got us a site pretty far away from the toilet and kitchen block so we needed to walk trough the mud although we were almost the only ones around.
Kitchen was alright but cold on a winters day, because there was no heating and the doors didn't really close. But for only $28 for 2 on a powered site it was alright and you are close to Nelson and the ferry at Picton.
All the powered sites are 1-2minutes walk to showers/laundry/kitchen.

Little campsite directly by the water, nice views and not to far away from the city.
The toilets and showers are being remodelled at the moment and you need to use containers instead but they get cleaned everyday and the water is warm.

Nice campsite with farm animals around, very friendly owner.
We were the only guests around and it kept raining all night, so the grassy ground got really muddy but that happens in nature. The kitchen was well equipped and the showers and toilets clean. We took a nice stroll to see the animals in the morning.
Thank you very much for your kind words :)

Our last stop on our trip trough NZ, campsite close to Auckland and the high way.
Site, bathroom and kitchen were clean. There was also a common room with free pool and pingpong table. We had a relaxing last night.

Nice, funny owner how let us use his indoor kitchen and let us eat our food inside his restaurant because it was cold and raining outside.
Powered site right behind the building, a little walk trough the mud to the toilets but they were clean. Probably a nice place in the summer with big area for camping.

Nice campsite right at the water, really quiet and relaxing.
Big kitchen and common room and clean bathrooms. Nice owner and only $15 pp on a powered site.

Nice campsite with nice owners, big kitchen and basic but clean toilet blocks.
There were many trailers but we felt welcome too. Playground for the kids and big area.

Caravan Park, we were the only tourists to stay for one night and felt kind like out of place.
We got a site very far in the back and needed to take a little walk trough the dark to get to the bathrooms. But these were clean and heated. Didn't notice a kitchen but there are outside bbq places. But price was alright, only $38 for 3 pp on a powered site.

Nice, quiet park just on the edge of Invercargill.
Clean and the warmest bathrooms we had in our 4 weeks trip this winter, so great! Well equipped kitchen and solid ground to park on, so no muddy shoes at bad weather.

Small campground close to Wellington.
It was pretty crowded even in the winter and you park close to each other, more like parking lot. But the kitchen and bathroom facilities were clean and alright, we washed all our laundry there and stayed 3 nights in total. It's true, some people actually live there but they were really nice and we got a nice conversation with them. The wifi was great but failed the 3rd night. Only $30 for 2 on a powered site.

We got there on a cold winters day and were the only guests so the host let up park close to the amenities.
The kitchen didn't have much to offer so we needed to cook in the van. The bathroom was bitter cold and the shower timed. But for $30 for 2 people on a powered site it was alright.

Really nice camp ground right in the nature and with lots to offer: swimming pool, volleyball and basketball field, mini putt, farm animals, big playground, wifi.
Kitchen and bathrooms were clean and had everything we needed. We only payed $38 for 3 on a powered site (winter).

Small park right outside of Dunedin, you park your campers pretty close to each others.
Big common room with pool and pingpong table, also big kitchen and clean, warm bathrooms. $40 for 2 on a powered site.

Really nice owner!
We came in on a winters day and because there weren't many guests we were allowed to use the lounge with TV, fire place, pool table, big kitchen and warm bathrooms and set our camper up right in front of it. Great on a cold day!

One of our favourite campsites on our 4 week trip.
Really nice owners, we could pick if we wanted to camp at the lake or up the hill. The lake view was just great, the kitchen by the lake was small but worked out and the bathroom and showers were clean. We also used the big common room with pool table, darts. It also had an extra big kitchen and lots of space outside to play soccer or football. And we only payed $39 for 3 on a powered site (winter time).

Nice owner how helped us out when we had a little incident with our vehicle.
Campsite is more like a parking lot but it has a big common room with a fire place, books and a well equipped kitchen. Half of the toilets and showers were closed due to maintenance but for winter time it were enough. Beware that there is no cell phone connection or wifi within 200 km up the coast.

Our favourite campsite, we stayed there 2 nights.
Nice owners and big, cozy common room. Toilets and showers were newly remodelled and clean. Kitchen was a little crowded in the evening with many nice people, so you can get into a conversation easily. Campsite was of nice size and every site had it's table and was surrounded with bushed. Feld very welcome here and had a great time.

Small and packed campsite, more like parking lot.
The kitchen was small and we didn't use it. Because it was raining all day the bathrooms and showers were dirty from the mud and didn't get cleaned. It was hard to find a dry space to hand up your cloths while showering. Still $40 for 2 on a powered site but probably cheaper then the rest in the area.

Small campsite, more like a bigger parking lot but right next to the thermal pools.
The entrance fee is included in the camping fee so we had a great time warming up on a cold winters day. The bathrooms were clean and there was a shed to dry your swim stuff. We payed $25 pp for camping and unlimited pool entrance.

Great campsite, we stayed there 2 nights.
Awesome view of the lake and nice and warm common room with TV and clean bathrooms. The kitchen was missing some equipment like pots and plates but other than that it was great.
