You can't fail to have high expectations of Milford Sound, and ours were exceeded.
Real Journeys laid on a very well organized overnight trip with really friendly and knowledgeable staff. We had already done their Doubtful Sound day trip - thoroughly recommended - and went on the Te Anau glowworm caves trip after Milford Sound. All 3 trips were of the highest standard.

Our first booking was canceled due to high winds, but we re-routed later in our trip to try again and are so glad we did.
Saw a sperm whale and amazing Dusky dolphins. The boat was really comfortable, and the staff were very knowledgeable with a very good audio visual on the way out. Well worth the money.

What a great way to see a wonderful country!
The van, which was very low mileage, ran really well - cruised comfortably, pulled well up the hills; we really felt like 'kings of the road'! The inside was nicely fitted out with good quality equipment, including a really good barbecue and camp chairs - sharp knives too. Strangely there was nothing to keep the van clean (dustpan and brush, bucket - we bought our own). And for a 4 week trip a change of linen would have been good. The only running problem was a leaking toilet which Amanda and the rest of the Wilderness team arranged to be sorted with the minimum disruption to our schedule. The guys at both Auckland and Christchurch depots were really friendly and laid back, which made for great start / end to our trip. Wholeheartedly recommend Wilderness.
