Phenomenal experience.
Not cheap, but kayaking in Mt Aspiring National Park is something I would recommend to everyone! This is geared towards the less sporty types with relatively little kayaking.

For a couple travelling on a budget, this is a great option.
We have been living in it for two weeks with no issues. Drives well, and you have got to keep in mind it is one of the cheaper campervans in regards to space.

Prepare for the cold!
We did it in the summer and it was still literally freezing. Great experience, only point of improvement would be signs of how much further to go to the top.
