Boat trip across Lake Te Anau, interesting though noisy (from the water!), cave tour and pitch black drifting under the glowworms.
Tour was efficient, only negative was that the information presentation afterwards was rushed to meet timings.

Kia Ora arranged for us to pick up and drop off our camper in unusual locations to suit our trip.
They were friendly and helpful throughout - the kind of service you get from a smaller and more personal company. Had a couple of small problems with the camper, but we paid less for an old model and problems were quickly fixed.

Wonderful way to see the Sound away from the crowds.
We took the coach from Te Anau and the driver was brilliant and informative. The cruise was stunning, though we were lucky with the weather conditions which made it worth the experience. Risks being dominated by large tour groups - as an individual couple we were overlooked - eg no place allocated at dinner.

Incredible walk through varied landscapes.
A personal challenge for me as I am scared of falling after an earlier hiking experience. I had no problems despite the heights, as we were lucky to have mild weather and low wind. A stunning hike and great huts along the way.

Small, informative tourist funded charity.
Beautiful land with knowledgeable guides who explain the huge efforts to protect the Yellow Eyed Penguins. Also get impressively close to the fur seals. Very quiet in October, may be busy in Summer.
