The Pureora Forest Walks are very well documented with information signs.
Absolute highlights were the native Kaka birds. From the Forest Tower we saw a group of 5 Kaka flying over the forest roof. Walks are short.

Beautiful Maori artefacts, great natural history and useful information on the military history of New Zealand.

We paddled downstream through beautiful scenery.
Bridge to Nowhere walk was worthwhile, some birdlife out there. Felt like three days was enough since variation is not plenty in terms of scenery. We collapsed once in the canoe, since we took the wrong part of the way.

We rented our canoe for Whanganui out here.
We got a good canoe, information on the rapids and good briefing before the journey. Also a free night homestay prior to the journey.
